"Our first time back in Belize in 18 years . Umaya was the perfect place. The views over the lagoon towards the Maya mountains are perfect backdrop after a day at the beach and pool. "We stayed here on a family vacation with our kids and their 9 month old child. The resort had a pack and play available as well as fridge and microwave. The front desk staff was very accommodating and helped arrange taxi service to the Mayan ruins and calico jacks for zip lining. There are several dining options within easy walking distance and we felt very safe in the area. Residents of the area are very warm and welcoming. The pool bar was a welcome sight at the end of a busy day. "

"We have been staying at Grand Colony for years. The reason we keep returning is the convenience of walking down the beach to the dive shop, having a full size kitchen and individual bedrooms for everyone. There are no amenities to speak of. No restaurant, no bar, no spa, the beach chairs have seen better days but so has the beach. The sea grass is nothing Grand Colony can help but it does make the ocean unswimable. "It’s a great property right on the beach, very walkable, super cold A/C, loved the staff. They were friendly and accommodating, even held our luggage after we checked out. Only downside were sugar ants in random places in our room, but didn’t stop us from having a good time. Would come back again! "
