"Great location with a very quaint atmosphere. Only 5 rooms in the Inn, above the restaurant which closed at 9pm to accommodate guests in the rooms above. Food in the restaurant is excellent and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The room should hav air conditioning installed. We were there in May before it was too warm outside and still found the room too warm, even with a ceiling fan. Bathroom could use an exhaust fan. "

"Typical family run inn with all the usual expectations, like very noisy A/C. Some run down items. Overall it was ok, it served the purpose. Not as clean as one hopes. Note that there is no breakfast (at least in September), but there is a coffee machine in the room and in the office. No cable TV."

"We stayed our last night in Nova Scotia at the Amherst Shore Country Inn. It’s family owned and had a nice welcoming feel to it. Mary was so helpful and nice. The room was very nice and comfortable, the property is beautiful, right on the water, and the main part of the inn is cozy. It was a little rainy but we put on our rain gear and explored the grounds. Not only are the grounds beautiful but there are places to sit, to play games, and just relax. Our entire experience was delightful! "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! It was spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The soaking tub was amazing! We also enjoyed using the well stocked, very clean community kitchen to make our breakfast. It was right around the corner from The Dock, a great Irish Pub. We highly recommend The Riverside Inn if you are visiting New Glasgow!!! Excellent in every way!"

"Wonderful room but the best meal you will find anywhere. We chose the full tasting menu which ranged from a warm shrimp salad to ice cream on rhubarb at the end with about five or six other dishes in between. It would be difficult to match in inventiveness, taste and quality what we had this evening with any restaurant in the country."

"Very nice room, comfortable bed and quiet. Bathroom had a huge shower and everything was clean. Breakfast was good as well. Had a bonus wine tasting at the wine shop as part of the welcome package."
