"Great hotel
To stay in the middle of the city! The area feels safe, although be aware of locals trying to sell you at every corner. Property is old but well maintained, though floor tiles are broke so hopefully it’s fixed in the future. Staff went above and beyond in terms of customer service, specially front desk, Yesenia! She made our short stay very pleasant. Will definitely stay again. "

"Great area to walk around Ciudad Colonial. Around the corner of the hotel theres a walking street with a lot of shops and restaurant and Parque Colón. A lot of tourist actives to do in the area. The only complaint I have is that didn't have batteries for my safe. I asked for them but didn't receive any :(. But otherwise great experience. "
"I’ve stayed at Penalba every time I come to SantoDomingo! I’ve always had a pleasant stay. I wasn’t happy because it’s the first time I wasn't given a balcony room. I was told there weren’t any rooms available. The whole hotel was basically free. 😡"
