Mountain Traveler Ranch Barndominium

Come on out the Ranch! Our 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment (barndominium) sits atop our working barn at the -MT ranch. Stop and take in a true Montana experience, watch the foals play in the field and enjoy the steers, horses, and other barn animals. Go check out the elk farm a couple hundred yards away or enjoy your morning coffee watching the sun come up while the Bull Elk and Buffalo are a window view away. You can enjoy your stay without going anywhere but we are conveniently located just minutes to Kalispell, and Flathead Lake. Centrally located between 2 ski resorts Whitefish Mountain and Blacktail Mountain. Take a 36 mile drive to Glacier National Park. Enjoy 360 scenic views of the surrounding mountains on this 2nd story Barndominium. Fully furnished with King bed master and queen guest room. Tile and wood floors with granite counter tops. We also just installed an A/C system in the main living area. Heading to Glacier National Park? https://www.nps.gov/glac/learn/news/glacier-national-park-2023-vehicle-reservations-open-february-1.htm They have instituted a entry ticket system and start releasing Feb 1st.

This is a working ranch
First - the Barndominium is perfectly decorated and has everything that you will need during your stay. Sue and Suny are very nice, but they are also working. You will see them working with the animals and they are they will definitely answer your questions, other than that they let you do your thing. The two biggest issues for us was the no smoking policy. I am used to that on most properties, but this is a strict no smoking anywhere because of the hay. If you are a cigar smoker, you can always grab a camping chair and head down to the river. The second issue is the flies. You are staying above an actual barn, there are lots of flies. Keep the door closed and used the fly swatter, but be prepared this is a working ranch, there are flies. We loved our stay, and the hosts were super easy to work with. We would definitely recommend the Barndominium for anyone ready to spend a few days on a working ranch.

Fun lodging above a working barn. Ranch setting with animals was perfect for our 12yr old (and me, the 72 yr old). Every amenity you could ask for in a very nice "cowboy" theme. Thx to owners.

Nice apartment, restful, clean
Very clean, comfortable property. Bedding was comfortable. quiet. Owner was there and busy but nice. TV reception was spotty and instruction for use were based on idea that you already were familiar with streaming services. I am not a rancher but could tell they have over grazed the property.

Lovely ranch destination
First time in a barndominium and was lovely! Very clean and comfortable. Power went out when getting ready one morning, but of course no fault of the owner. Her attention to the little details was wonderful! We appreciated the snacks and hat very much!! Perfect location to enjoy the surrounding small towns and visiting Glacier. Loved watching the kids practice their roping, getting ready for their rodeo. Highly recommend this rental!!

The space was amazing as promised and previously reviewed. When I got there, the playpen was already set up for my baby. This was a very helpful and thoughtful touch that was much appreciated! There were many thoughtful touches like this that were appreciated. We will definitely stay there again if given the opportunity.

Like home away from home but much more beautiful
This is a lovely, comfortable property with many thoughtful touches not seen in other VRBO properties (bathrobes, bear spray rental, facial tissues, dining suggestions, guest book with helpful suggestions for area attractions, etc.). Loved waking up to see the horses, mules, dogs and cats every day. The hot tub felt great after a day of exploring beautiful Montana. Barndominium very comfortable and relaxing space. Some days you can see the neighbor's bison and elk from the barndominium windows. We only slept in the king size bed and it was very comfortable. Both bedrooms good sized with large closets with hangers in the closets, dressers for your clothing. Additional sleeping quarters in the loft (two twin beds) accessed by a ladder.

Perfect Montana experience. Views were amazing. Barn was unique and excellent experience.
The barn was amazing. Views from every window. Sunset and sunrises. Hosts made sure they thought of everything you could need for your trip. Close to the city but in the country. Hosts descriptions were exactly how the Barn was. We would stay again!! 5 out of 5!

Where do I start?! Our stay was nothing less than perfect. Sue and Suny are so welcoming and offered several suggestions on day trips and restaurants. The setting is like a Hallmark movie! All of the animals were adorable, especially the cats. Be sure to enjoy the sunrise, there's nothing like it. The barndominium was very comfortable with all the amenities and then some. The beds were extremely comfy! We loved staying at the property and have already talked about a return trip. My boyfriend proposed on our trip so this is a very special place for us. Perfect choice!
This was our first trip to Montana and I was looking for a place that would give us a feel of being in Montana without all the trappings of a dude ranch. We love horses even though we don't ride. The Cheff's Barndominium was ideal. The accommodations are clean, well equipped, homey and comfortable with western ranch style decor we really enjoyed. Seeing beautiful horses out of every window is a great way to start a day. The location was ideal. A short distance north to Kalispell or south to Flathead Lake. Glacier National Park is under an hour. The Sue and Suny Cheff have done a great job creating this opportunity. Highly recommend.

The Barndominium was exactly as advertised. I couldn't imagine driving back to a hotel after a long day at GNP, but driving back to the ranch just continued our adventure. Great location and easy drives to Whitefish and GNP. Suny and Sue were great hosts.

Perfection!!
Honestly, I have never been to a place that I had such a hard time leaving. My whole family had such an amazing time that none of us wanted to leave. The ranch was in such a great location. There was plenty for us to do all around. The barndominium was beautiful, well decorated with very comfy beds. The hot tub was such a nice addition to have after long days of hiking in Glacier National park. We LOVED all of the farm animals (especially Ranchy the cat and Diesel the steer). The owners were very friendly and gave EXCELLENT suggestions of places to go around town. We are already planning to come back and thinking of retiring in Montana!

Panoramic Mountain Views from a working Ranch
The stay was great and just as described. Although it took us 50min to get to West Glacier each day we went up, the ranch was quiet, secluded, and very peaceful. We went hiking, boating, exploring the mountains in an ATV, horseback riding, and many other things around Glacier and Flathead, yet our kids consistently said their favorite activity was being at the ranch playing with the new kittens and petting the horses and cows. Suny and Sue were very accommodating and great hosts, gave us recommendations to a rodeo that we thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely stay again if we were back in the area.
