Daytona Beach Boardwalk is Daytona Beach’s historic promenade and the place to be for seaside fun. It stretches for about half a mile along the Atlantic Ocean foreshore between Main Street and North Ocean Avenue. Whether starting your day with a morning stroll, playing traditional amusements with family and friends or watching street performers, a great time awaits at Daytona Beach Boardwalk.
Adults and children alike will enjoy the range of classic arcade and video games at the boardwalk’s amusement centers. Try your hand at skee-ball, pinball, Space Invaders and other games that bring back memories of a bygone era. Ride the vintage fairground rollercoaster, relax on the Ferris wheel and speed around a go-kart track. Thrill-seekers can get a bird’s-eye city view from 360 feet (110 meters) on a sling shot.
Gaze across the ocean and spot pelicans while sauntering along the esplanade. Pause to study the clock face of the Daytona Beach Coquina Clock Tower. It features the letters of Daytona Beach rather than numbers. The Daytona Beach Racing Memorial commemorates the people and automobile companies that brought motorcycling fame to the city.
The boardwalk has a big selection of dining options for when hunger strikes. Snack on cotton candy, ice cream and pizzas at food stands or head to Daytona Beach Pier for crab and seafood dishes. Purchase souvenirs such as custom-designed T-shirts. Ocean Walk Shoppes has surf gear, swimwear and restaurants.
Balloon artists, jugglers, magicians and other street performers put on shows throughout the summer. Arrive on Saturday evening from Memorial Day through Labor Day to watch the spectacular Daytona Beach fireworks display. Also on Saturdays during summertime are live music events at the Daytona Beach Bandshell.
Daytona Beach Boardwalk is just a 5-minute drive from downtown Daytona Beach. Parking is available for a fee on the surrounding streets and at the Ocean Center. Make sure to visit nearby attractions, including Daytona Lagoon and the Peabody Auditorium.
