“There are some details that are missing about this property, and if we had known them beforehand our stay would have been more bearable Our cabin did not have any of the amenities listed. Upon entering the cabin, the only contents of the cabin were a table, a barstool, and a bunk bed accompanied by a long twin. There was no electricity, insulation, running water, or bedding. Photos display a wood burning stove - our cabin did not have that. The temperature dropped below 45 degrees on both……

“We enjoyed our stay here very much! It fit our needs perfectly for our rockhounding trip. It was my husband and I along with my sister and our 2 dogs. There is a nice big yard for the dogs. The cabin is rustic, which I liked and was clean and comfortable.Communication with hosts was great. We had a couple of questions and they always responded quickly. Check in was easy. We cooked a few meals and the kitchen had all the pans and utensils we needed. No complaints here!”

“What an amazing little place to stay right on Lake Superior. Comfy little cabin, deck off of the bedroom is a great view! Sitting around the fire with a glass of wine was super! “We booked this cottage to attend the graduation of my Granddaughter from MI Tech. We enjoyed shopping in Houghton and Calumet. We used the cottage for sleeping and relaxing with the five of us who stayed there. Dined out or munched on leftovers, so we didn't use the kitchen very much.”

“We were there for a weekend getaway. The home was really gorgeous. The Lake Superior views from the bedroom and the living room were amazing. We were hoping to catch northern lights, which were a miss, but the home and views made up for that. Jason and Misty were really gracious hosts. They left us detailed instructions and recommendations to make our stay comfortable. If you have folks like mine who cannot stay of internet, then look no further. “The Copper Jewel is a wonderful property with character, charm and plenty of space. And Pam is a rockstar! We had the whole home to ourselves (3 couples) but were fortunate to have our host (Pam) prepare a bountiful breakfast each morning and entertain us with stories of Calumet and copper country - including the 100-year old Jewel (home). The sauna was a hit as was the easy access (walking) to the bars, restaurants and shops of downtown Calumet. Love this place and look forward to returning……

“This home was compact, but very clean and had many thoughtful touches like well-placed night lights, a good bread knife, etc. The hosts checked in with us to be sure we had no problems and we were doing fine. The home is on a highway, so there is a bit road noise, but it is located so that neither Copper Harbor or Houghton seemed too far to go. The house book had some good recommendations for restaurants and we had a nice meal at Fitzgerald's. It was great to have the ability to do some laundry……

“Property was very clean . It is small but was perfect for my husband, myself and our small dog. It had everything we needed. The outside property is very well maintained and very well lit. I felt very safe taking my dog out at night. It was cold and rainy so we couldnt enjoy they outside seating and picnic table. But it looked very inviting. I would definitely stay here again. Very well cared for rentals.”
