"The Pestana Rua Augusta treated us so wonderfully on our 2-night stay during our honeymoon. Upgraded room, congratulatory champagne and chocolate covered strawberries—we were so happy! This location is centrally located and walkable to most spots in the city. For those spots outside of the neighborhood, it is easy to access both the Metro, buses, and trams. We would not hesitate to stay here the next time we visit Lisbon. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful."

"Great location and the staff were very friendly. It is the perfect location if this is your first time visiting Lisbon since you are centrally located. The loung/bar area was cosy and perfect for a night cap, and they also have a bistro. Our room was was modern and fun. Coffee pods for the nespresso were always fully stocked. Would definately go back."

My only caution is that the beds are hostel beds and I wouldn't recommend for folks with back issues. "The staff at the hotel desk were great. However, the staff at the Breakfast Buffet were awful. We had an experence where we asked for one cup of decaf coffee and 30 minutes later; and after flagging down to additional staff personnel we were told the machine was broken -- but, then we received a cup of coffee 5 minutes after that. On another day, I arrived to a buffet that was out of scrambled eggs (the only cooked eggs offered other than hard boiled) - I immediately informed the staff and...

"The one good thing about this hostel is that it is centrally located in the city. They fail to mention that they have a single toilet and 3 showers for each gender in the hostel. The showers and bathroom were extremely dirty, had various bugs crawling around them, and always smelled disgusting. The hotel manager also fails to mention that they turn the air conditioning on at night and prohibit you from opening the window, leaving you in a hot room with 7 other people. Avoid this place. "
