We had a very pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown Savannah. The location was great - walkable to many Savannah attractions! The room was clean, aside from the carpet which looked like it was due to be replaced. The beds were clean and very comfy. I like that there was a variety of pillows to choose from. The temperature of the room was comfortable and the AC worked great! The free breakfast was a nice addition. It wasn't the tasiest breakfast in the world but hey it was hot and free! The only thing that was lacking was that it needed some fruit - melons or even canned peaches (it is the peach state afterall). Overall we had a great stay and I would stay at a Holiday Inn Express again!

We’ve been staying at this hotel for years. We keep returning because of the location and overall happiness with the hotel. This trip was an exception and we will most likely not return. There are so many other hotel choices in Savannah. Right from the start, we weren’t greeted at the reception desk with that delightful southern hospitality that we’ve received in the past. We didn’t have a hair dryer or enough towels in our room, and the coffee was always out in the mornings. When I returned the “keys” to the front desk, the receptionist didn’t ask me if my stay was okay or anything. She just pointed to the return key box. We walked by the concierge multiple times a day and he never once acknowledged us. Lastly, the young lady at the breakfast area looked at us like we were a complete waste of her time and it was obvious she hates her job. This hotel just doesn’t have what we are looking for anymore. I would like to give a shout out to the older lady who replenished the coffee everyday. She is by far the nicest person at the hotel. She welcomed us everyday and made us feel at home.

Good location, typical price, good view. Shower pressure was weak, sink was slow to drain and had no hot water. TV was in an awkward place and was very slow to tune in. Terrible quality picture too! The front desk had complimentary water bottles but they were warm. Why bother? Parking is always a money grab at these Savannah hotels. They offer valet parking for $45 a night or you can try one of the local parking garages which are right down the block. Sometimes you can score a spot on the street.

Overall, good hotel. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The room was good - clean, comfy beds. I liked that there were plenty of drawers in the room for storage and also really handy to have a fridge & microwave in room. But the people across the hall from me were loud and I could hear quite a bit of their conversations. Also, I wish there was more storage in the bathroom - only 1 towel hook and 0 drawers in the bathroom made it difficult to unpack all my toiletries. Another plus though is that there was a cold water dispenser in the lobby.

Unfortunately, the reception staff were a little rude and inaccurate, particularly telling me my credit card was declined when I actually had a receipt and my incidental payments and already gone through so that makes up making me feel uncomfortable and we’re actually quite short and on check out I had a bill, but I had pre-paid so I had no expenses and they were telling me Not to worry about it but I wasn’t going to press a build it I had to pay for

The staff at this property were fantastic, from Abby at reception to CJ at valet. The concierge Mark was a lovely man, who helped us with dinner reservations and directions easily followed on the map he supplied. The hotel was in the historic district, walkable to all the sites and restaurants we planned to visit.
