Beautiful Cabin on Scenic WI River/Lake Wisconsin. Close to WI Dells and Madison

Beautiful, spacious cabin located on the scenic Wisconsin River. Enjoy nature with all of the conveniences of home. Stunning 180 degree water views from the home and deck. Our home is located just above Lake Wisconsin on the Wisconsin River. There is a fire pit for night bonfires, grill for barbequing and screened gazebo for relaxing. We have a 20’ dock for fishing and enjoying the view. Enjoy watching all of the wildlife the river has to offer including Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles and Blue Heron.

Inside you will find a 2 story vaulted open great room with a spacious dining room and fully stocked kitchen with a 10 foot island. There is an enormous wall of all windows looking out to the river for an open view. The cabin has knotty pine walls, a full brick wall fireplace and rustic cabin décor. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one full and one ¾ bath). The master bedroom has a King-sized bed with bathroom access. The second bedroom has a queen bed and twin bed with bathroom access. The 3rd loft bedroom overlooking the great room and river has 2 twin beds. There is also a queen size futon. Linens and towels are provided.

Enjoy our beautiful waterfront location or explore our local attractions. The cabin is in walking distance from Hookers Restaurant & Bar with great grill your own steaks and Live music almost every weekend. Located nearby is the fun filled Wisconsin Dells (30 minutes) with world class Water parks, and attractions. Hike and take in the breathtaking scenery at Devil's Lake State Park (30 minutes). Visit the International Crane Foundation that houses every species of Crane (25 minutes). Enjoy a Gambling excursion at Ho Chunk Casino (25 minutes). Explore the MacKenzie nature center with native animal exhibits (15 minutes). Do some wine tasting at Rock N Wool Winery in Poynette or Wollersheim Winery in Prairie Du Sac.

If you are up for being on the water, enjoy boating down river on Lake Wisconsin or to the sand bar islands with sandy beaches on the river for all day fun and relaxation. The public boat launch is just ½ mile down the road if you want to bring your own boat. Rent Canoes or Kayaks from Wild Wisco Waters (608-617-0998, wildwiscowaters@gmail.com) and they will pick you up and take you upriver and you can float and paddle down to the cabin. Burhops (about 10 minutes away) rents pontoons and fishing boats on Lake Wisconsin (608-592-4802).

Please note that we put our dock in when the water level is normal (usually late May to early June but it can fluctuate with rain events upstream). We prefer to rent Saturday to Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Please contact us prior to booking if you are interested in different days during this time period.

Exploring The Wisconsin Dells Area
This house was absolutely what we wanted. A nice quiet place to spend the evening while exploring the Wisconsin Dells area during the day. The view from the living area was peaceful and serene. Our son and daughter in law were staying with my husband and me. We had room enough that we were not tripping over each other or getting in each others way. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, pots pans, mixing bowls...everything you would have in your own home. If we ever decide to come back we will definitely stay in this house.

Cozy cottage in wooded Wisconsin
Our stay included a senior couple for the week. The weekend included a son and daughter in law and 4 grandkids. The home was very comfortable and clean. The kids had room to explore. All bedrooms were upstairs except for a futon in the laundry room. The path to the main door to enter was gravel. Spacious family room, kitchen very equipped and plenty of dining space. The owners were easy to reach and very accommodating.

Another great stay
This is our third year in a row staying at the house and it was another wonderful experience. It's quiet, but close enough to get places like Madison and the Dells. The Roku wasn't working but John and Jen were right on it and ordered a new one but when it was delayed, John brought out one a couple of days later and put it in. They are both very helpful and respond very quickly to any needs. The house is amazing, the two refrigerators are a real plus, and the bed is very comfortable. The water level was low so hard to get on the dock as the bridge was steeper for older people:) The river does go up and down but still so serene to be on it and always enjoy our time. Thanks much!!

Great place to stay!
We had 5 adults and 3 kids visit the Dells in July, this was a nice place to return to everyday. There was plenty of space for us. Beds were comfy. We came back and made dinner several nights and kitchen had everything we needed. We used the grill as well. We enjoyed fires in the evening and neighbors were nice. Kids enjoyed playing on the dock and looking for toads. Washer and dryer are older so they do run a little slow, but they got the job done. There is a small park and restaurant nearby. We brought our own but they did have soap and shampoo in each bathroom, plenty of towels (even had some beach towels we were able to use), plenty of extra bedding in closets. There are lots of notes around the house letting you know how to run things (lights, TV, fireplace, etc). Only thing I could see being a problem is all bedrooms are upstairs so if you had someone that doesn't do stairs well, they would have to use the futon in the laundry room to sleep on. (my son slept on it and had no problems). We would def stay again if we return to the area.

Peaceful cabin on the Wisconsin River
This cabin sits right on the Wisconsin River and has beautiful views from the living room’s large windows overlooking the river. There is an island directly across and a larger channel on the other side of the island, which most of the boat traffic uses, so the smaller channel that the cabin is on is quiet and very peaceful. From the cabin, we saw fish, deer, turtles, frogs and toads. The cabin was great base for many activities in the area (Devils Lake, Mirror Lake and water parks).

Perfect place!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The "cabin" was so well outfitted with what you'd hope to find from linens to kitchen tools and dishes. Two full sized refrigerators were great as well. This is a very nice rental indeed. It felt as though we were on the water as the large picture windows display the Wisconsin River flowing by as you sit in the comfortable living room. Highly recommend this and want you to know the owners were excellent to work with.

the cabin it self was great, nice view of the river, the only problem was the wife recently had a knee replaced ,and the property only has stepping stones with gravel in between and it ,making it alittle difficult to walk on,other wise a great place

Outstanding week.
Very quiet. Hosts were great. It’s an older home. Not musty at all. Very clean. One bathroom upstairs between the bedrooms. One downstairs. If you’re not wanting to share a bathroom, it takes a bit of coordination but works great. All the appliances were in great condition. We did get a boat up the river from the lake. A bit tricky to do so, but once we managed the route the next trips went quick and easy. If the river fell another 6” it would likely not be possible in the big pontoon. Overall this is a great spot, great hosts, a great house, and we’d surely stay again!

The cabin was comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Beautiful view, nice deck and access to the river. Definitely a rural location, but plenty of activity in Wisconsin Dells and Madison, each 30-45 minutes' drive away, if that's what you want. For our family, it was the perfect spot for time together!

Great open cabin with plenty of room and amenities. Location is great and close to many tourist spots/towns/restaurants, etc.. NOTE: bedrooms are upstairs with an adjoining bathroom/shower. (note to owner: need to replace the upstairs shower head) Also note there was a severe storm in the area summer 2021 that downed a couple trees, on the property, near the river and one large one remains downed in the river. Note sure if it'll be removed. Other than that we sat on the deck each morning and evening and enjoyed the river and fall colors. Relaxing. TIP: we went to the nearby Hookers Resort's restaurant one evening and we wanted steak..... you get to pick out your own type of steak(Sirloin, Ribeye, NY Strip or Filet) from nearby refrigerator and YOU grill it on their large INDOOR grill!!! Also you grill your own fresh baked bread !!! They have melted butter with brushes so you can butter your steak or the bread for grilling. You can also choose Mahi Mahi, Salmon or chicken breast to grill... it was fun and yummy!!!

Relaxing stay on the river
We stayed for two weeks at the property traveling from Colorado for a 16 night stay and overall it's a beautiful place to be. A little surprise was had the first morning (Monday) as there had been a lot of rain up north which had flowed down our direction and woke up to the banks flooded and the dock unusable and the fire pit under water. The owner was very apologetic and said it should recede by Friday. Saturday afternoon we were able to use the stepping stone pavers to make our way to the dock but the ground by the fire pit was saturated the whole stay so we were unable to use the fire pit by the water. The owners have provided a portable fire pit in the front of the property on the driveway which we did use and enjoyed a couple of the nights. The property is on a very quiet street and that made it very pleasant to sit outside. There is also Hooker's restaurant and bar down the street which we could walk to and grab a beer, watch a game and have a fish fry. The inside of the home is very nice and the wall of windows in the living area made watching the river go by very pleasant. The kitchen was probably the best part of the inside as it had everything you needed!!! There was plentiful cookware, tupperware, and utensils that you sometimes don't have at other properties. They also had two refrigerators which were extremely handy. The bedrooms were nice and closet space was plentiful. All the bedrooms are on the upper level with the master and guest bedroom sharing a bathroom (jack and jill style). They do have a futon in the laundry room and a nice sized couch if someone couldn't navigate the stairs. There are also two twins in the loft area upstairs so plenty of sleeping space. The house is spacious and beautiful with the knotty pine making it very "cabiny" feeling. Overall, it was a great couple of weeks being able to be back "home" in Wisconsin. Would love to return in the future.
