“This was my family’s first time staying at Riu Palace Riviera Maya and we LOVED it! The staff was attentive, and all very nice. The food, for an all-inclusive, was great (I know a lot of people complain about the food at these places but you can’t expect Michelin quality food out of buffets). The entire property was beautiful and loved that we could walk around the Playacar area totally safe. Highly recommend! ”

“We received an email from them as we landed at the Cancun airport to indicate our room wasn’t available, the replacement accommodations they offered looked in no way comparable. At least they quickly refunded our money but we were left to scramble to find another hotel during the cab ride from Cancun to Playacar. We’ve never had anything like this happen before!”

“Excellent food and service”

“Overall good value for the money, but the management gave up on the beach upkeep. Seaweed is a known problem in Mexico but in most places hotel at least tries to clean it up. We were hoping to spend some time on the beach but were quite disappointed. Also, Palace Elite is VERY pushy in offering their membership, which completely smashed our desire to come back to any Palace hotels. ”

“Not a lot of food options, hard to get into restaurants and the buffet food was not good. Had issues with AC in one of the rooms the first two days, got up to 86 degrees. Wish the resort had transportation options since there was limited dining. We had to get a taxi and go into town to get some food. Overall staff was great and facility was nice. ”
