Upon arrival, I was informed that the hotel was doing urgent maintenance work on the floor of my room. This, they had booked us at their sister hotel, Central Park Hotel, which was a 10 minute walk away. The good: Room was the standard size as expected, upgraded from continental breakfast to full hot breakfast for the inconvenience of switching hotels and the staff at both hotels were very polite and helpful. The hot breakfast was very decent and included vegan and gluten free options and the staff at both hotels were very polite and helpful. The bad: No air conditioning (original hotel didn't have either), but an electric fan was provided. Didn't feel safe to open windows due to scaffolding outside. Bathroom was ridiculously tiny - matchbox size. Paper thin walls, could easily follow the conversation of next room. One morning, construction crew started work just outside my room with little care or notice if I was still asleep.

The staff at the Royal Eagle were wonderful. Our room was on the 4th floor. At night it was very quiet hearing no street noise. We did not try the breakfast, so we can't comment on this. While our beds were not the most comfortable, we were tired at night, so our sleep was undisturbed. The bathroom was more than adequate, with plenty of hot water. Location of hotel is in minute's walk of trains and busses, plus plenty of yummy eating places. We would stay here again for sure.

I needed a reasonably priced London hotel for one night close to transport links. This hotel ticked all of the boxes. Booking was efficient and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Special shout out to Nisha on reception (I think that was her name) who was super friendly and accommodating. The room, which was for one person, was small, but I expected that for the price and type of property. It was clean and had everything I needed for one night. Are there better London hotels that this? - of course; but if you are looking for a short stay at a sensible London price - the Royal Eagle is absolutely fine and does what it says on the tin. I would certainly book again and am happy to recommend this hotel for the reasons stated.

The staff were friendly and quick to help with transportation planning regarding routes and bus numbers. We were always greeted in a friendly way when leaving and returning to hotel. The shower had great hot water and amenities. Great location in a nice neighbourhood.

Great location in Paddington. Convenient for the tube. Beautiful parks nearby. Basic hotel but very clean and very friendly staff. We had late transportation back home and we were allowed to store our luggage for just £5 for 3 bags so were able to spend more time in London on our last day.

Incredibly rundown facilities. Thankfully, I just stayed there one night. Only one electrical outlet in the whole tiny room. Tiny elevators. Tiny walkable corridors. The bathtub was clogged. Floor tiling was not properly installed. Check-in was rude. Check-out was fine. Property looks acceptable from the outside. It is located in a posh area, and close to Paddington station, but it is surprisingly rundown.

On the morning of 26 February 2024 at about 5.30-6am the ceiling above my bed started to leak water on to me and my possessions so I went to reception rapidly to report the flood. I have increased the rating for cleanliness but have decreased for safety as the water was emerging from the electric light socket in the ceiling and the receptionist turned the lights on when he cam to the room until I shouted at him it was a live current (not the water!).

The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly, the location is fantastic as its very close to Paddington. The breakfast in the morning was enough and staff were always filling things up highly recommend for next visit
