New Year stay
A traditional inn on the Union canal. Check in was simple and friendly. No elevator but only one flight of stairs. Room is on the small side but this is an older property, Bed was comfortable, duvet could be a little larger, it fitted the bed just but was perfectly warm. I like fresh air and the room had an opening window which is becoming all too rare. One minus was that the water supply to the bathtub was wrongly connected.. The hot tap gave out cold water while the cold tap gave out scalding hot water. Forgetting this, I nearly burnt myself once or twice. The bathtub was very deep which allowed for a really pleasant soak but it would have benefitted from a handrail to assist getting out of it. Breakfast had an excellent choice of dishes. Lunch and dinner was pub food. Lively bar with a good atmosphere. Long walks can be had along the canal towpath either side of the Inn.

We absolutely loved this place… The inn and its’ setting is beautiful. We couldn’t wait to get out for a walk with our dog, Hector, in the morning along the lovely canal… and it was a glorious frosty morning! Bliss! As soon as we arrived at the inn, we were made so welcome. Our room was gorgeous. Meal Delicious. Bed… sublime… cosy and comfortable, pillows… had best sleep for a long long time. It was So So quiet too! Just perfect. Everything and more that you could possibly need in our room. But, first and foremost… the staff. I have never met such kind and friendly staff… every one of them. All went out of their way to make us feel valued. You are all lovely. I can’t speak highly enough about you. Nothing was too much trouble and you took an interest in us, really warm and caring. Thank you xxx We already plan to come back in the spring. And, hopefully bring more of our family. Sublime !

My husband and I only stayed one night at the Bridge Inn. We'll have to come back as we really enjoyed our stay. The location is convenient and very quaint. We had a restful night, following the most delicious single malt and dinner. We found the staff to be particularly friendly and knowledgeable. In the morning, we also had a delicious breakfast before heading to town. Thank you for a delightful experience.

If you're looking for peaceful and quiet, you can't go wrong with Bridge Inn. Tomas and his team were warm, welcoming, and made everything perfect. The setting was idyll, breakfast delicious, and facilities pristine. Everything was kept exceptionally clean, and the heated floor in the bathroom was a delightful discovery. Would highly recommend for the traveler seeking serenity.

Fawlty Towers eat your heart out. Was welcomed by the barman who was doubling asa receptionist. His office was the dining room bar. He promply tried to sell breakfast to me, this was on arrival at 5pm. He helped usupstairs with our luggage and gave us no further information other than if we wished to enter or leave the building between 11pm and 6am we must use the fire exit. He did not tell us there was no milk with the tea and coffee facilities in the room. If you wanted milk you had to go to the bar to get it. Pity if you needed it between 11pm and 6am. Then we get to the ensuite! You need to be a 15year old gymnist to get in and out of the clawed bath. When you got in the cold water tap dispenses hot water and the tap marked hot gives you cold water. The so called shower is simply a showerhead in the bath. You cannot wash your upper body and hair as there is no shower curtain so you flood the bathroom when attempting to. Finally there in no rails to support you when alighting from the 60cm high bath resulting in a real danger of slipping.

such a shame.
very disappointing this looks like a lovely place to stay, unfortunately it seems that the food is the most important part-don't get me wrong the food was truly AMAZING!! the overgrowth was very sad, this could be a wonderful place to sit and watch the boats on the river, but so overgrown and overlooked. pots and plants around left to go to weeds and fallen over or cracked. downstairs is locked off between 11pm and 7am.some really nice bar staff employed here, friendly and helpful.
good breakfast

My night at The Bridge Inn was the perfect way to end my Scotland vacation. Loved the location right on the canal. I was fortunate to arrive just in time to rent a kayak (Driftwood Adventure). The restaurant has a fun menu and the food was delicious. My room was comfortable and immaculate. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful.

This is a great option for a last nights stay in Scotland. It's close to the airport and super easy to get an Uber. I loved the quaint area and the hotel itself was charming and clean. The bathroom is recently remodeled and has a great shower!) The stay does come with breakfast, which we weren't able to take advantage of since we had an early flight. The staff was lovely and sent up a "to go" breakfast when we asked for a bit of fruit to take. They sent a scone with jam, apple and banana. Yay. The only reason I am not giving this stay a 5 star is the staff was a bit unorganized. Especially the dining. Check in was easy, but a bit chaotic as well. (We had read that the rooms facing the road were noisy with cars going by. We did notice that as well) Having said all that, I would recommend : )
