"We had a fantastic weekend with friends here. Close to VT for football game and awesome huge kitchen to hang out in. Kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we've seen in vrbo houses! The layout was perfect for our family with kids plus another couple. It was a bit chilly to enjoy the lake, but it was a pretty view. Nice and quiet wooded neighborhood."

"Our family stayed in this historic property for a celebration of life of family members who passed away recently. The beautiful and spacious front porch with rocking chairs and a swing was an amazing place to share laughter and memories while the kids played in the expansive front lawn. "What a relaxing weekend! No phones, TV, internet. Awesome place to get away from it all. So peaceful and nice. The Bunk house was really cool. Decorated just right. It was cold so we made use of the wood stove which gave off the best warmth. Beautiful surroundings. Great place to stay. Highly recommend!"

"Property is amazing, we felt so at home! Wish it could have been nicer weather but we still enjoyed the deck and lake views. We chose to book here for our son’s graduation from RU with his master's. This way all of us could stay together with my 90 year old father. Ended up being 2 less people so we didn’t even use one room. So quiet and peaceful. Thank you!"

"I never do reviews, but was so impressed I am sharing. The property was exactly as pictured and described. Had booked a year in advance for my daughter’s graduation. It was a great place for a family gathering. We took advantage of kayaks, cornhole, and pool table. Everything was clean, grass mowed, and fire pit ready to go. "The bus was awesome! Had everything we needed for a short stay. Comfortable bed, a nice fire pit, shower, toilet, and refrigerator. Lacking ample firewood scavenging. Suggest bring your own firewood. Recommend keeping your dogs away from woods as there were an abundance of brier prickers."

"We had a group of 10 stay here for a Virginia Tech football game. About 40 minutes into Blacksburg on gameday. We all slept comfortably, and the property provided a great backyard, screened-in porch, and fire pit. Plenty of seating on any part of the property. Would recommend to any large group, whether it be for VT or just for the lake."

"The house was in a nice location on a quiet street. Walking distance to a beautiful park along the river. Very close to the New River Trail (though temporary closures forced us to access the trail in other locations). Check the state park website for updates if you’re biking. As others have said, the upstairs bathroom was pretty tight, but the bedrooms and living areas were spacious. We enjoyed the porches and pretty backyard."

"The two days we went to Fries it was cold and rained constantly, so there wasn't any hiking and such. The house is lovingly remodeled and updated (and cozy!), so it wasn't a hardship staying in. Puzzles, movies, and reading by the gas-log fireplace. Great meals in local restaurants; nice view from the covered porch; and NO traffic! Peaceful weekend."

"Things I liked about the property: Convenient location to many great fishing location, house old but very clean, quiet, plenty of parking, nice fridge/freezer and kitchen appliances and cooking utensils. Things I wish were better: furniture not comfortable, bed pillows were clean but not comfy, small bathroom, toilet worked but low water pressure. Would stay again and better than a hotel."

The big yellow house really stands out on the street and makes it easy to find and the fenced backyard is perfect if you bring a pet."

"I can't say enough about our stay. They literally though of everything possible that one could need plus some. As soon as you walk in, it just feels like home. Kathie left fresh Pumpkin muffins on the table for us upon arrival. The property in itself is breathtaking. We spent hours on the porch off of the living room. We were lucky enough to get a little storm during our stay so we got to enjoy the storm on the porch and watch as the lightening and fireflies lit up the night. It was a magical...

"Stayed a few days for some AT hiking. Absolutely everything we needed."

"The cabin was fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. My wife and I mainly sat by the firepit outside and enjoyed the quiet peace of nature. Amoung amenities, they even had firewood stored, even though I took my own. The host was very polite and considerate with every request. We will definitely be back!!! Book your trip to this place...
