We love the new Hawthorn, it’s close to where we are visiting family. Staff are very pleasant, room very clean. Sound is an issue, but that’s how hotels are made now, no soundproofing..you can literally hear bathroom, and all other noises, inside and outside.

What a great property. The property is 50/50 Laquinta and Hawthorne. Similar vibes but Hawthorne has extended say with 2 burner stove top mid size fridge with a freezer. This was just the spot I needed for the night.

The floors are very thin and you can hear the people walking in the rooms above you. Also, when I was taking a nap in the room one of the staff tried to use their key card to enter the room despite the fact that the do no disturb sign was posted. The room condition is very good, beds comfy, kitchenette excellent.

The property is well maintained but did not enjoy the amount noise created by the nearby road as well as noise that could be heard whenever somebody walked down hallway or floor above. The breakfast was very average with just basic items when compared to other hotels. Will look to stay elsewhere next trip.

As an infrequent Wyndham guest, I was unaware Hawthorn and La Quinta are in bed together. No mention of La Quinta involvement on Expedia. So, when I arrive on a rainy night, strictly relying on GPS in an unfamiliar area, it was confusing to find a LQ sign on the building I had been looking for. No mention of Hawthorn Inn. After a lot of excess driving, my copilot finally saw the name - in letters no more then a quarter the size of LaQuinta - at the very top of a 4-story building that had no access to the property on that side! If the Wyndham brand manager for Hawthorn is competing with the manager for LQ, they’re losing badly.

Nice but Noisy
This solo stay started off great but on my 2nd and third night I heard everything happening above me and next to me. The people above me were incredibly loud from sun up to sun down as well as the people next to me. I did alert the front desk but that was a temporary fix. The breakfast was pretty good & fresh everyday. I can’t promise I’ll be back as it was a bit too busy for a person trying to get away from constant noise living in the heart of NYC.
