Travel Guide
Wenatchee showing tranquil scenes and farmland
Go hiking, cycling or driving around this beautiful valley city, known for its world-famous apples and situated on the banks of Washington’s Columbia River.

Find the picturesque city of Wenatchee nestled in the valley of the Wenatchee and Columbia rivers, between the rugged mountains of the Cascade Range. This stunning river city features panoramic mountain views, dense pine forests and pretty apple orchards. Base your outdoor adventure on the rivers and mountain ranges or relax and enjoy the local culture and events.

Wenatchee is renowned for its pleasant weather and long summers. This climate is ideal for agriculture and the city has earned itself the reputation of being the “Apple Capital of the World.” Explore downtown and stop by the weekly farmer’s markets and the Pybus Public Market to sample some of the Wenatchee region’s fine fresh produce.

Visit the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee to see a local production or enjoy a performance by the Wenatchee Valley Symphony or the Wenatchee Big Band. Learn about local Wenatchee heritage and the city’s diverse cultures at the Wenatchee Valley History and Culture Center and the Children’s Discovery Center. Browse the city’s fine antique wares in the downtown antique shopping district.

Discover the Wenatchee Valley’s breathtaking landscapes on a daytrip, hiking or cycling adventure. Take the Apple Capital Loop Trail to explore 87.9 miles (141.4 kilometers) of paths along the river, winding past gardens and public art sculptures. Visit the Ohme Gardens to explore this mountain bluff park, filled with colorful flowers and cascading waterfalls. Enjoy excellent views of Columbia River from Riverfront Park. This picturesque green space has bike paths and walking trails. Rock climbers will love the Peshastin Pinnacles State Park, a natural formation of spire-like rocks just outside the city that features stunning views of apple orchards.

Wenatchee is located in southern Central Washington along the Columbia River. Reach Wenatchee by plane to the Pangborn Memorial Airport, a regional airport with flights arriving from Tacoma and Seattle. Wenatchee is connected to several other major cities with Greyhound buses and the Amtrak train service. Wenatchee features warm, sunny days almost 300 days a year.

Nice town with friendly people. Wenatchee needs more creative dining options. Emphasis is on Mexican food and hamburger joints.
