To get a sense of the beautiful urban green spaces, go to Schlossgarten, which is the start of a series of interconnecting parks that locals call Das Grüne U (The Green U) because of the shape it forms around the city. At the Stuttgart Wine Festival you can sample around 500 different wines, including riesling and trollinger. Meanwhile, beer lovers meet at Cannstatter Volksfest, which is sometimes called the Stuttgart Beer Festival.Stuttgart has an efficient public transport system and is easy to get around. The Stadtbahn is the best option for short distances and it stops at most of the places you’ll want to visit. Most major attractions are just a short walk from Schlossplatz. These include the baroque-style Neues Schloss, Altes Schloss (Old Palace) and the shopping district on Königstrasse.
