“Off grid getaway tucked deep in the redwoods— arrival itself is an adventure. The apartment is a quiet, peaceful nook with an eclectic touch. The grounds are highly explorable and our pup had a wonderful time. Wondering around and waking up next to the rushing Eel River was a beautiful experience. Great place to stay if your goal is to disconnect for a while. 10/10 will return. ”

“Place was very cozy, everything inside the house was very clean; outside the property had overgrown weeds and maybe needs a little bit more attention. The washer was loud and the dryer was squeaky. Overall, we had a comfortable time. Karin was excellent with questions.”

“We loved our stay in the library! Browsing the wide variety of books was quite fun. We love being a little bit out of town and walking in to the sweet town of Ferndale. Our second stay at this property, but first at the library. Our go to place now when coming to Ferndale.”

“Small, cozy cabin, right in the middle of the avenue of the giants! It is located just off hwy101(far enough the traffic noise is not an issue). Just minutes to get onto the avenue. Cabin has everything you need for a short&quick stay. Would Def stay here again. Neighbors but quite spot. The few issues i had were addressed right away!!!!!”

“A beautiful Victorian home in the heart of downtown Ferndale. Warm and comfortable. Historical furnishings, photos and decor. Has a claw foot tub instead of shower, so guest must be able to negotiate getting in and out of a large tub.”

“The house was very cute and had plenty of room for the 5 of us. The back yard is spacious and feels very private with the redwoods lining the back of the property. Easy access to the freeway was a plus. I would definitely recommend! Although we did not bring our dogs on this trip, it is a pet friendly place. Thanks for sharing your home with us!”

“Beautiful location near the redwoods. House is older, but great for families to gather (larger living room and dining room and kitchen). There are lots of stairs between bedrooms, so not great for crawling babies. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking, but not well organized (we had to open every drawer when looking for something). Loved the redwoods in the backyard and beautiful view. Living room needs a new smoke detector.”

“This home is an amazing piece of history in an amazing little town! Built in 1919, it has been updated with the necessary amenities but keeps its historic charm. Lots to do in and around this home. Our family of 10 stayed very comfortably with plenty of room to spread out! We absolutely will stay again in this gem!!!”

“We enjoyed our stay very much! The property was a little difficult to locate, as it was through a gate at the back of the property. We ended up arriving in the dark at night and found ourselves down the wrong driveway, but once we saw the Vacasa sign, the location became evident.”

“We came to Petrolia for a couple of days on a road trip up the coast and had a great time. The kitchen was very well-equipped and bedrooms were comfortable for our party of 6. The orchard was also really lovely! The house is just a few minutes from Mattole Beach on the one side and the general store/‘downtown’ on the other. Great place to stay on the lost coast!”

“Stay was ok but not great like other reviewers said. We paid extra for "executive" but not sure what we got for that. The window blind did not work so we held it up with a big rubber band. There was dog hair on the window?? and husband has asthma. We told the manager... Bfst was good.”

“Great historic lodge feel, fascinating old lumber company town. Really nice people at the front desk (10/10), really some of the best in my extensive travels. The room was attractive and perfectly clean, had lots of character with all the modern conveniences. Only one fairly serious complaint, which is no restaurant. Not even food at the bar there. Had to go to the neighboring town for a take out sandwich for dinner. That needs to change.”
