Southeast Florida, FL

Travel Guide
Miami showing a city, a bay or harbor and night scenes
Flavor and fragrance is everywhere in this part of Florida, from the Latin spice of Miami, to the Margaritaville vibes of Key West, to the eucalyptus-scented Everglades.

Cultural aficionados, beachcombers and outdoor enthusiasts alike will find something to love in Southeast Florida. Explore museums, galleries, beaches, historic sites and more in this pocket of the state.

Discover the opulent luxury of Palm Beach. Walk around Worth Avenue, where art galleries, luxury stores and world-class restaurants converge. Enjoy a similarly luxurious atmosphere inland in West Palm Beach. Check out the Norton Museum of Art, South Florida Science Museum and Palm Beach Zoo for hours of amusement for the whole family.

Make your way down the Atlantic coast through affluent beach communities, such as Boynton Beach, Boca Raton, Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Check out the galleries and museums in Delray Beach. Stroll along Blue Wave Beach on Hollywood’s Broadwalk walkway.

Explore the melting pot that is Miami. Browse through the markets of Little San Juan and the antiques and art of the Design District. Get authentic Cuban food and hand-rolled cigars in the Little Havana district. Shop, dine and dance in the Bayside Marketplace. South Beach, a neighborhood of Miami, is a destination in and of itself. Enjoy the round-the-clock nightlife or catch some rays on the beach.

Continue south to Key Largo, the gateway to the famous Florida Keys. Paddle around the spectacular reefs in John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Dive into the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and see if you can find the Christ of the Abyss statue resting on the ocean floor.

At the other end of the Florida Keys, considered the very bottom of the United States, find Key West. Country singer Jimmy Buffett made this place famous, but it’s a lot more than Margaritaville. Visit Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum to learn about the fabled author. Take a boat or seaplane to the pristine Dry Tortugas National Park.

No visit to Florida is complete without experiencing Everglades National Park. Spot alligators languishing in its seemingly endless swamplands.

Visit Southeast Florida throughout the year. Come for its warm weather and sunny beaches, but stay for its plethora of natural and cultural activities.
