"We had an amazing stay at The Orchard House. The pictures do not do it justice. It is beautiful and special. We stayed in the Library Room. Very unique and spacious for 2 people. I am in love with the bed/mattress! The light breakfast served (coffee/tea, cereal, boiled eggs, juice, toast.etc) was perfect and a great way to start the day. The host/owner, Bob will admit the property needs substantial renovations to the exterior but don't be misled. The property has it's charm and the location cannot be beat for the price. "My wife and I had a delightful time at the historic Waldo Emerson Inn. The back half was built in 1753 and the front half in the 1780, yet this historic home had all the conveniences of the modern world: snug windows, heated bathroom floor, and easy to control heatng. The B&B was originally the home of the great-uncle of Ralph Waldo Emerson. One of our favorite times were breakfast. Amelia, our hostess, is a great cook and so much fun to be around. "The unit we stayed at was well kept. Feels new. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The beds were the best part, very comfortable. We had 1 full bath and 1/2 bath that were clean with tons of clean towels and quality brand Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. We will definitely book here again on our next trip to Maine.
