"It’s more like a busy family hotel (kids running at lounge/restaurant/room upstairs) than a luxury mindful get away like it is advertised. Tell from hotel staffs face, it’s probably short of manpower and long working hours that everyone looks very tired. They tried to provide nice service but just too overwhelmed. "Really enjoyed my stay at Grand Kempinski. Location is convenient yet quiet. Several restaurants, a shopping mall and a subway station are all in walking distance. Staff were professional and friendly. Bellboys were very helpful. Our room has a nice view of the Bund. The only minor thing is that although the bathroom is decently-sized, I couldn't find a good spot for my toiletries. A design flaw I guess. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again next time I come to Shanghai."
