Amazing house in the mountains
We would definitely stay here again. The driveway is something. I am surprised there isn’t a rail on the one side and the electrical box being at the top. Beautiful views that high up. Gorgeous home and loved the size of the kitchen. It was so handy having the grill on the deck right off the kitchen. Thanks for letting us stay and being able to use your property!!

Driveway is bad
The lower level had a smell. Oner said pipes were dry snd to run water that did work drive way is a nightmare dishwasher full of dishes, trash cans outside were packed with trash. Several lamps did not work and kitchen table and counter top were dirty. Overall it was ok at best.

When a cabin sits empty at times, the septic gas can back up into the lines. Normal. Dishwasher had clean dishes. Cleaner came back to empty the trash. One lamp did not work because a guest had broken it. This is a high end cabin.

Beautiful cabin and view!!
Absolutely loved the cabin and the view!! The cabin itself was very clean and was well stocked with everything you would need for your stay. My family also loved eating at Elvira’s cafe which is located at the end of the road. The driveway, however, is a different story. It is it for the faint of heart lol. An AWD or 4x4 vehicle is a definite must!! It will make navigating the driveway easier. Once I figured out how to navigate the driveway, it definitely became easier. I will definitely rent this cabin again!!

Mountain Getaway
The property was amazIng. The views were breathtaking. The owner was very prompt in getting back with us about an issue we had. Overall a great stay EXCEPT for the driveway. The driveway was a NIGHTMARE!!!! IT IS STRAIGHT UP AND A 90 DEGREE TURN AT THE TOP!! You can not slow down once you start up the hill. You have to gun it at the bottom and dont let up. Coming down one day it was raining and we slid down part of the driveway. I drove a front wheel drive honda crv. My other family drove a Nissan rouge. We both had tons of issues getting up and down. My other family even had to buy new tires when they returned home because the tires slid so much going down and spun so much going up it wore down to the wires. Take the posting serious. 4 wheel drive is a MUST!!

Nice location
The location was great. Beautiful cabin. Property was clean except for the floors. Walking barefoot from the shower to the bed, feet were black. TV in the bedroom with the white farmhouse furniture would not stay connected to the WiFi so my husband and I could not watch it for the first several days. Finally on the 3rd and 4th day it decided to stay connected. Overall our stay was enjoyable and the price was great. No major issues that would prevent us from returning in the future.

Great Mountain Experience!
Was accommodating for infants and children. Great location to the National park. We used the grill and the grill scent does bring our bears! Saw one checking out the grill afterwards in the evening!

Spacious and Beautiful!
Such an easy, true mountain experience. We even saw a small bear while making s‘mores (and quickly went upstairs to watch from the balcony). My husband, myself, our 3 kids, and our parents (8 total) slept comfortably with enough private bedrooms for all adults. The view was breathtaking and the property was gorgeous. Instructions were accurate and easy. The driveway was pretty scary for us not used to mountains city folk but my husband and father in law handled the steep drive beautifully while I put a sweater on my head 😅. Can’t wait to go back!

Great Family Vacation!
Would highly recommend! This is an extremely nice house with amazing views! I have to say the driveway is as bad as everyone says! we have a front wheel drive Chevy Traverse and it Would Not go up the driveway! I lived in TN for many years and I'm telling you unless you have 4 wheel drive you're not getting up this drive way! Luckily we took 2 vehicles and the other vehicle is 4 wheel drive so we parked at the bottom and had to take the 4 wheel drive 2 trips up and down the driveway every time we went somewhere. With that being said, we really enjoyed our visit! Communication was always great. They always got back to me asap no matter what kind of questions I was asking. The house is very child friendly. We even saw a bear in front of the house one morning. Would definitely recommend and I'd go back again.

Absolutely Beautiful Cabin
This cabin looks just like the pictures, it’s truly gorgeous! The views are breathtaking! The kitchen is well stocked, and the owners paid close attention to details downs to the beautiful light fixtures throughout. Beds are comfortable! We never waited long for a response to our many questions while planning our trip. We would most definitely rent from these owners again and look forward to visiting real soon in the future ! Thank you Gary for everything you did to make our vacation enjoyable.

BEAUTIFUL CABIN
This was a beautiful cabin, and a beautiful location! My wife and I enjoyed the amazing view from our balcony every day. The steep driveway was certainly a bit challenging at first, but got easier as the week went on. Would highly recommend!

Unique Location
My family and I had a great time at the house. It is a new house and is well kept. The 3 bedrooms each have their own bathroom. The living room is very nice and the kitchen is big with everything needed to cook. The loft is great with the pool table and hot tub on the porch. The porches provide a great place to sit and drink coffee in the morning. The only negative aspect is the very steep driveway. It is manageable with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and good momentum going up, and using low gear to go down. I recommend staying here.

Beautiful mountain cabin
This was a beautiful mountain cabin with a stunning view, plenty of space, and well stocked kitchen. It felt very private. The hot tub was great! The driveway was a challenge for those from the flatlands, and we found that 4 wheel drive or minimum of rear wheel drive were a must for this location. The proximity to Pigeon Forge and GMSNP worked great for our group.

Attention to detail could be better
We showed up to a mess of a house. It was obvious there must have been a recent wind storm as the exterior was a mess. It was so dirty everywhere outside- every outdoor ceiling fan had fan blades broken off and one was laying in the yard. The spa was low on water, making a weird noise because the pump was cavitating. The garage / carport was so dirty that we actually swept it out. We were disappointed that the owners didn’t have the house checked on before guests arrived for a vacation. It was definitely not ready to receive guests. The pilots were not lit for either of the fireplaces. The house was spacious and worked well for our party of 6. We enjoyed the pool table and fire pit outside. The view was very nice. The interior was very dusty and needed better cleaning. I don’t think the mantle had been dusted in months. The house is a newer build but doesn’t feel like it when you arrive except for the fact that there is a lot of unfinished work in the garage- wires handing down from the ceiling, no garage door yet, paint cans, misc leftover construction items. We liked the location and recommend the Hawk Skylift which is right next door. The driveway is steep with a tight turn at the top which is not a problem for a confident driver. It definitely could be an issue for some people.

The night before this guest arrived, there was a major storm (70 mph wind) causing damage to the outdoor ceiling fans, leaf’s and debris inside the garage (no garage door due to it being a rental property at this time) and pilot light being blown out on the outdoor fireplace. Again, all because of the major storm. The garage has been wired for garage doors, and one day when we retire, we plan on installing doors, but it is not feasible at this time as a vacation rental property. Additionally, we have since changed cleaning services since this guest stayed in early April, but writes a review in mid-June. We never once received any sort of complaint from the guest other than notifying us the exterior fans had been broken from the storm and pilot light was out on the outdoor fireplace.

Beautiful Property
This is a beautiful property with great views and well equipped with very nice amenities. We had an infant and a toddler with us and felt like they were very well accommodated. We loved being able to have sleeping areas separate from them. We only had a couple of problems while we were there that are worth mentioning. One is the one most of the other reviews indicated and that is the steepness and narrowness of the driveway. I’m sure some people get used to it, but we were kind of traumatized by it, especially considering the short stay. We also had a problem with aggressive carpenter bees that were all around the deck areas. Unfortunately, this made it difficult for us to enjoy the deck areas for most of our 3 day stay. One recommendation: additional towels and linens. We wanted to use additional pillows but didn’t have cases. Also, the guys did go in the hot tub for a short time, and it would have been nice to have additional towels for that.

Bird Eye View
The cabin was amazing. It was like sitting in bird house on the mountain side. The driveway was like a mountain climb at the top. But well worth it. We were blessed to have a dog show up and protect us from a baby black bear one morning.

Very steep driveway/ Great Cabin
Where it says must have 4x4 they are 100% correct, the driveway is VERY steep with a sharp turn at the top, not for the faint of heart. That being said the cabin was excellent, very well stocked, clean and the hosts were very responsive.

Wonderful stay
The property is gorgeous. The owners spared no expense to ensure everything you need is there and more. We don’t have babies but there were gates for every set up stairs and I think 3 pack and plays in closets. Upon arrival 2 of the 3 ac units were not blowing because the previous renter set the thermostat to 45 degrees and they froze over. The owner was very responsive and with a quick fix we had ice cold air our entire stay! They were helpful with recommendations and we loved the location as we were only 20ish min from both Gatlinburg and PF. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the amazing views. Would definitely rent again if we go back! Wonderful house, great location and owners with amazing response time. 10 out of 10

Beautiful views!
We stayed at Sunset Lodge with 2 other couples and the layout of the lodge allowed each couple to have a bedroom/bathroom on separate floors which allowed some privacy. The lodge is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck enjoying the mountain views. The kitchen is well appointed. We cooked several meals at the lodge and appreciated the grill on the deck. The only issue we had was with the mountain driveway. It is a very steep driveway with a sharp left turn at the top. We only left the cabin once a day during our weeklong stay to avoid the intense up and down access to the property. This might not be an issue for some people but for us, it was difficult. I do want to say that the owners are very nice and easy to communicate with and they are quick to repsond with all questions.

Wonderful stay!
Our family of 5 (3 kids ages 4-5) had a wonderful stay at Sunset Lodge. The location is great with AMAZING views of the valley. The hot tub especially had beautiful views and was very clean. It was an easy drive to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge but we spent most of our time exploring the surrounding area and enjoying local hiking and restaurants. Sunset Lodge is also hands-down the best stocked vacation home we have ever stayed in. We had everything we needed for cooking, sleeping, and lots of fluffy towels. My kids especially enjoyed doing the puzzles and playing with a few toys that were at the house. I appreciated that exterior doors had deadbolts and chain locks at the top. There were also baby gates available for every set of stairs for younger children. They have truly thought of everything! We look forward to staying here again in the future!

SUNSET LODGE 🌞😎
Talk about gorgeous and amazing views to say the least! This place is not only exactly as described but location-location-location! Just minutes away from dining, shopping, the night life, and attractions, (highly recommend Parrot Mountain and the “Island”)!!!!! The lodge had everything we wanted and then more exceeding our expectations! We had fun listening to music with the fireplace going while grilling out playing pool and even chilling in the hot tub!!!!! Had plenty of games to play not to mention hiking on the property but we didn’t get to hangout by the fire pit as it was too windy! We definitely recommend SUNSET LODGE🤩💖

Spring Break 22 - Wears Valley
Let me start by saying the owner of this property was very responsive and kind to deal with. However, our stay was less than favorable. You cannot get to this house without substantial horsepower or all wheel drive. At its peak it is a 27% grade going up with a sharp turn at the top to park. Although intense, our family drives a large off-road vehicle. Second, upon arrival we were immediately greeted with dead bugs all over the house. 3 vacuum fills the first night followed by daily vacuuming after. As I understand the mountains are infested with a certain beetle and the owner had sprayed before we arrived. Would have been nice for someone to clean it up prior to arrival. The linens and sheets were all clean, the upstairs fridge was not. I cleaned it prior to our grocery haul. Second, some of the photographs are misleading. The views are primarily from the southwest looking decks and not reflective of the close busy highway below. Additionally the outdoor fireplace was not able to be used as it was new. Third, the hot tub was unusable. It was covered with slim, smelled and had only one functioning vent. I did let the owners know upon our departure. Lastly, due to the new construction we got a huge screw in our tire and had to leave a day early. We were contemplating this anyway due to the bug situation, but we had no choice in the matter after that. All of this has been communicated to the owners. Again, they were really nice. We rent exclusively from VRBO for 4-5 vacations annually. First time I have had to leave a bad review. hopefully this will help them improve other’s stay.

The mountain beetles are a common problem in mountain homes. As the review states, we had the home sprayed the day before and the beetles were scrambling to stay alive. The hot tub is now perfectly clean. This was our very first guest, the water had been sitting and not used since the house is brand new. The outdoor fireplace is also fixed with a new timer. The mountain views are due west and overlooks the the church in the valley below. There is another home being built just below our lodge and they due have a tendency to leave building materials out and about. This guest was our very first guest and we regret their stay was less than favorable, but note all issues have been addressed and the lodge is just beautiful.
