We especially enjoyed the outdoor amenities, with the fire pit and hot tub right on the river, in view of the lock -- and under the stars. I highly recommend this particular unit for its privacy as well, we felt totally alone despite being located alongside a small community of other residents. "It was a fun little cabin! It had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We were greeted by cows for coffee in the morning and enjoying fire at night. We enjoyed being off the beaten path and yet still close to Gelena. If you want privacy and a little adventure, this is the spot!"

"Ensure you have AWD or 4WD and good tires. It’s a 10 miles drive on a very muddy/gravel, low maintained road with lots of holes. There were several times my van almost got stuck and I was sliding all over the road. The tree and water fountain were very cute but there were 2 dead mice around the bottom of the tree, inside the cabin. The road/driveway outside of the cabin was pure mud deep mud. "This place was so nice stayed for two nights kids begged for a 3rd. Saw turtles,beavers, muskrats. Both kids caught their first fish ever right off the dock. Definite core memories. Beds/bedding were comfy and clean. Beach around the corner. If you need there are public swimming pools near. We went to mt carrol public pool and it was perfect.
