Hi Sarah, thank you so much for your review and for choosing to stay with us! We're sorry, we know parking can be tough on the weekend in the Pier Bowl area when spring and summer roll around. Thankfully, beginning Memorial Day there will be a free trolley that runs around town 7 days a week and picks up right down the street from us. That does help with parking a little bit and some guests enjoy leaving their car parked after they arrive and taking the trolley instead. If you'd like to come stay with us again, we'd be more than happy to give you trolley info! :) Best Wishes, Shelly

Lovely experience, and unique property that felt charming and European and we could see glimpses of the ocean from our room. For travelers who prefer sparkly clean and modern spaces, this might not be for you as it definitely is an older property and I did clean the room with my own Clorox wipes thoroughly and dusted before my friends arrived. The check-in was friendly, and we loved it and were happy with our choice!

Great location overlooking ocean and San Clamente Pier. Sombrero unit has kitchen, fireplace, and separate bedroom with two beds.
Historical building with lots of character. It was perfect for our ladies getaway. We went to some great restaurants, shops, and Casa Romantica.

It would be wrong of me to be selfish and leave one star so that someone else does not book on the same weekend I plan to go back! What a lovely stay my family and I enjoyed. Can’t wait to go back.

Could be better
Posted Feb 10, 2024 on HotelsA lot of external stairs we weren't aware of or warned about to access the apartment. Difficult with heavy luggage. Room was very cold without the heating on. Bed was comfortable but pillows could be better. A guide to the local area would be appreciated.

Hi Rebecca, thank you for staying with us. We're so sorry that your stay wasn't everything you'd hoped for. We would have been more than happy to help you with your luggage. If you enter in through the gate next to your room, the room you stayed in only requires going up a couple of stairs. We will make adjustments to check in instructions to make that more explicit. Regarding the room's temperature, the room has wood floors and large windows so when we're going through a cold spell (as we were) it is cold unless you adjust the thermostat in the room. Thank you for the suggestion about the pillows; we will check them and replace them as needed. As for a guide, there's one on our website but we haven't printed one out. We are always happy to offer our guests suggestions as well as help with anything else that they need. Thank you again for your feedback. Great location bad experience

Property has great theme and location
Unfortunately the roof in the bedroom leaked water throughout the night damaging some luggage and clothing

Hi Michael,As we've said in our correspondence with you about this, we are so sorry that the ceiling leaked at the corner of the foot of one of the beds during your stay. Our property is almost 100 years old and we rarely get rain here and the rain last night was very heavy. We had no way of knowing the leak was going to occur, but had we been told about it once it started, we would have done what we could immediately to try to remedy the situation. Since we were not notified until this morning about the leak, there was nothing we could have done. Once we were notified, we inspected the leak area immediately and are in the process of getting it repaired.We don't understand why you claimed that we did not respond to you because not only did I speak with you in person this morning, we've also been corresponding back and forth via email since your checkout.As a small family business, we take genuine pride in our guests enjoying themselves. Best spot in San Clemente for restful stay!
Posted Jan 14, 2024 on HotelsOceanfront Hacienda was such a wonderful surprise! I stumbled across their listing looking for a quick overnight escape for my wife and I. It was quite simply one of the the warmest and comfy experiences we have ever experienced. Quiet, cozy, and restorative for your spirit. Very close to everything you want to access on the waterfront at San Clemente, right across from the Metro Link stop, with a quick trolley ride up to town. This is now our home every time we will visit San Clemente! We loved staying here, and we will be back!
