History buffs, architecture and design aficionados, and lovers of elegance especially appreciate The Nickerson House, its amenities, its sunny disposition, and the beautiful vibe of this special home.

Fully renovated with all the modern features you want in a vacation home with all of the character of a storied Victorian house. The Nickerson House is appointed with high-quality fixtures and fittings throughout.  We have a fully stocked kitchen with place settings for sixteen perfect for families celebrating the holidays or foodies who enjoy cooking as part of their vacation. A fully modern and beautiful kitchen with granite countertops and a generous island that doubles as a breakfast bar with a beverage fridge.

Beautiful Property
Perfect for our family get together in San Antonio! Close to Pearl District and lots of Restaurants! Also 15 minutes to main part of Riverwalk. Neighborhood is transitioning but didn’t feel unsafe. House has an alarm for peace of mind. It was absolutely perfect for 3 couples with each bedroom having a their own bathroom and even a 1/2 bath in laundry room for convenience! Would definitely stay again!

We loved the property. The backyard was great for the dog and the location was close to everything. The only downside is the showers didn’t have much pressure but other than that we had a great experience.

Comfortable and Classy
Our stay at this lovely home was just what we were hoping for when we booked it. A comfortable place to stay and visit with family we don't get to see very often The bedrooms were very comfortable and the living area/dining area/kitchen were warm and inviting. The location is close to the Pearl District and we enjoyed going there for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We would highly recommend visiting this area. Although it is less than a mile to the Pearl District, we did not walk as we didn't know the area. We drove one day and called Uber the next. It was a quick drive. The house had many comforts and although we did not cook during our stay it is well supplied if you choose to.

This historic house in San Antonio was so great. 3 bedrooms and 3 on suite bathrooms accommodated us perfectly. Updated kitchen with large dining room and front room. We enjoyed sitting on the backyard deck overlooking the huge backyard. The house was located close to the river walk, Alamo and Pearl district.

Awesome place for a Mother/Daughter trip
We absolutely LOVED this home! We were very comfortable ! The alarm system was nice to have for peace of mind. The neighborhood was very quiet Each bedroom has its own bathroom, tvs and comfy beds. Wonderful backyard with two separate seating areas was amazing. The upstairs reading nooks were my favorite place The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed Highly recommend this home

Charming house
The house is well equipped, nicely decorated, and very clean! The neighborhood is obviously transitional with some homes that have been renovated and others in great need of repair in this neighborhood. However, once you close the door and you are in the house, it’s all good! When we came into San Antonio it was in the mid fifties, and when we got in the house it was really cold, however, once we raised the temperature and put the space heaters on it was perfect. As with any property, you just have to get acquainted with the house. There is plenty of room, the kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Restoration in a Convenient Neighborhood
This home has been wonderfully restored, the kitchen and bathrooms are very modern and spacious, but all of the original charm has been retained. The house was beautifully decorated and well appointed. The neighborhood is very conveniently located and is less than 10 minutes away from the Riverwalk and the Pearl Brewery.

Was not happy with the neighborhood. House next door was in horrible sharp.was farther away to Riverfront walk than I was expecting. It was easy to get an Uber. Boards divided the rooms and were uneven so all 4 of us were afraid of falling. The front had a brown spot on the ceiling which I think the upstairs bathroom was leaking.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Nickerson House, a beautifully renovated historic home with modern conveniences. The kitchen is spacious with very, very nice amenities. The queen beds are super comfy. There are 3 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom plus a half-bath near the laundry area. Two bedrooms are downstairs. One downstairs bathroom has a shower; the other bathroom has a shower/tub combo. The 3rd bedroom and bath with a shower is upstairs. There are 4 TVs, one in the living room plus in each of the bedrooms. TVs offer free streaming services or log in with your own account. There are 4 steps leading to the front of the house and 3 steps in the back of the house, but no exterior handrails (at the time of our stay). There is a Nest thermostat which worked great once I learned how to use it. (YouTube helped here!) Parking is available in the back of the house, behind a locked gate and accessible via a back alley. The location is very convenient to downtown, the Pearl District, and major interstates. The property manager was very responsive prior to my booking, before our arrival, and during our stay. As a final thought… The house is in a transitional neighborhood that is rich in history. We hope that other homes are brought back to life and capture their architectural charm just like this house was. Definitely worth a stay here!

Nice stay, but cold
We rented this home for our daughter’s Air Force graduation in November. The house is about 25 minutes from base, and the commute was not bad. The home was very clean and had all the needed amenities. We were a little surprised and concerned with the neighborhood when we arrived; however, we did not experience any issues or ever feel unsafe. My main complaint was the temperature control. When we arrived, it was cold outside and it appeared the heat was not turned on. The temp inside the house was in the low 60’s and it was 9:00 PM. When we turned the heat on, the upstairs room heated quickly, but down stairs just never warmed up. It was SO HOT upstairs it was unbearable. Our daughters had to sleep in the living room on the couch and floor due to excess heat upstairs, meanwhile downstairs was still very cold. There was never a happy medium between upstairs and downstairs which was frustrating. Overall it was a nice stay. If we had not had the temperature issue, I would 100% recommend this home.

This house was exactly as described. It was remodeled beautifully! San Antonio is hot and the house AC worked well with the 110 degree heat. We were so great full for the extra additional AC in master bedroom, it helped with afternoon sun. Kitchen had spices, sugar, etc and it was so warm and inviting. Dining room has a large table for family to dine in style. Bed was comfy. We plan to stay here every time.

Great home close to downtown
The home was very close to everything that we wanted to see during our time in San Antonio. Access to the interstate was close by. We found it to be more accommodating to use lift for downtown activities,as opposed to paying for parking. The owner was very responsive with check in, and with any questions or issues.

A Dream House
My family and I stayed to enjoy our Airman’s graduation from basic training and our stay could not have been more perfect. The house is a dream house with lots of space and beautiful touches throughout the entire home. All bedrooms have their own bathroom plus a half bath downstairs. The outdoor space is beautiful although we did not to get to enjoy it much due to the heat during our stay, it was still great in the evenings. The bedrooms are very comfortable and location was perfect to access the AFB as well as enjoy downtown San Antonio and the river walk. I highly recommend this home and will definitely stay here again if we ever find ourselves back in the area!

Air conditioning not working
We got there, in the evening, and it was burning hot inside. We turned on the air conditioner, left our things and went to eat, hoping it would be cool when we got back. Got back by 10:00 and it was still 92 degrees inside. The air wasn’t working. We thought maybe it had turned off so we made sure it was on and turned it way down. Never cooled. An hour later, the whole time messaging the host, we were tired and burning up, we packed up and left for a hotel down the street. The host messaged later saying it was fixed, but we were exhausted and already at a cool air conditioned hotel. I don’t understand why someone didn’t make sure it was working and the house was cooled off before we got there, they knew we were coming.

Enjoyable Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Victorian gem over Memorial Day weekend. The house was clean upon arrival and beautifully decorated. The beds were the most comfortable we have slept on in a VRBO rental. Our group of consisted of four adults ranging in age from 63 to 22 and we all enjoyed the close proximity to the Riverwalk, Alamo, The Pearl and restaurants. Not all historical houses on the street had been beautifully restored like this one, which caused us to feel a bit cautious at first, but after spending time in the neighborhood without issues, our minds were put at ease. The only minor complaint is that the front and backyard had not been mowed for quite a while, so we couldn’t enjoy the back area lounge chairs and fire pit. The mowing crew showed up the morning of our check out. We would highly recommend this rental to anyone who wishes to enjoy San Antonio in a historical house close to all the sights.
