San Antonio is an experience all its own. Hotel Gibbs added to that experiencing because of its proximity to everything in the city. We valeted our car for two days and didn’t call it back until we were ready to leave the city. Everything is within walking distance and so beautiful!

The only bad thing i can say is my truck was damaged by the valet parking company working inside the hotel. They will pay for repairs they say, but i will have to do without my truck. We are traveling on vacation. Hotel was beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. And the breakfast we great. Not a cheap tasteless breakfast.

Location, location, location!! That says a-lot, but the incredible breakfast was the icing on the cake! It was delicious! The building was built in 1909, so it’s older, but definitely upgraded.

Sheets were stained when I arrived to the room. When I asked to get sheets changed, someone came to drop off sheets and left. All air vents covered in dust. Many surfaces in the room were covered in dust. Door knobs were sticky.

Excellent location, next to the Alamo and 1 block from the Riverwalk. The only down side to me was the bar options for drinks and food.

Property was missing the final touches like missing baseboard trim pieces in a bathroom, and the lobby looked sad and shabby. It just needs a refresh. The GM was really nice and informed us about a weather storm coming in as to protect our car we bought. Overall it was just “Ok”.

Building is old, rooms are small with old fixtures, damaged towel racks, and light fixtures with missing covers. Staff was very nice and helpful. Bar for happy hour was forgettable. No vibe or decor.

Property was pretty clean great service and communication. Breakfast is pretty early small selection but good for a couple of days. Now the only thing that creeped me out was the amount of HUMAN HAIR ON THE MATTRESS COVER LORD EVERYTHINB WAS CLEAN EXCEPT FOR THIS SO BRING LYSOL AND BEDBUG SPRAY JUST IN CASE

Overall, this is a historic hotel. Original flooring dating back from the early 1900s and older designee rooms give the rooms a unique character. Hotel is clean and an excellent location to the Alamo, shopping centres, restaursnts and the Riverwalk. Beware that parking is pricey here. $45 for valet or $40 for public parking with limited in and out privliges.

It was great and the best thing about it was it’s location, it is located literally in the heart of the city of San Antonio.

30/45mins into my stay, my truck got broken into and vandalized. After the cops had taken the report, I asked the lobby if there was a safe place to put my truck for the night. Staff stated they had a lot where they placed valet cars but that it wasn’t that much safer. I asked if I could cancel and check out. They stated they would still charge me the whole night and I would have to speak to Expedia in order to get my refund back. The day shift staff was very helpful with what happen in allowing my truck to be parked in front of the hotel until my window was fixed.

This is a beautiful old building. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the Alamo. Nice location for walking along the Riverwalk, only a couple blocks away. They do a very nice breakfast buffet and the staff is friendly and helpful, especially Jasmine.

Very much liked the convenience of the location and the historic look of the building. The rooms were quite small and needed updating and some repairs. The staff was pleasant but they need to offer information on how things are done at the hotel

Gibson is the best and across from the Alamo! Everything within walking distance! Rooms are clean and updated. The best part is the breakfast! I love this place. It’s a gem and a bargain for the location. Will definitely come back next time I’m in SA for work.

It was not a large change hotel. Quiet, easy to get to River Walk, Alamo, and all of Houston Street. Lover the old look of the property but nice clean rooms.
