The hotel is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, at about a 20min walk from the Colosseum. There are some restaurants very close by if you don't feel like venturing back into central Rome for the odd meal. There's a train station about 10 mins away, and a bus station also. The Baths of Caracalla is a historic site about 9-10 min walk away and well worth a visit. We (2 adults and a 11year old) walked everywhere, as have always enjoyed exploring a new city that way. If we got late getting back at night, we took a cab - about 11-15 euros depending on where we were. The hotel room we had was a triple, and spacious for this part of the world and very comfortable. Breakfast provided by the hotel was generous and buffet style, with hot and cold options and good coffee. Staff, whether at reception, or at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel San Giovanni - thank you!

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, it was lovely and clean and staff were friendly. When requesting a taxi they were extremely prompt which is wonderful. Only problem I found was that the breakfast staff were too eager to take plates, cutlery, cups before finished. Multiple times I got a cup of coffee/juice and returned to table and it was gone. Also while I was finishing a mouthful the breakfast staff took my plate. It is great to have plates cleared away fairly quickly but it does ruin the atmosphere if you feel like you’re being watched and getting ready to be pounced on. Overall absolutely lovely hotel and staff and would definitely go back.

The staff was very friendly at the hotel and helped us with our requests. Only small issue was that for the first 36 hours at the hotel, AC wasn't allowed, so it was hot and humid in our room. Fortunately, we could open the window to get some fresh air. Fortunately, we were surprised on our third day with AC being activated and we enjoyed it.

Clean and comforable room. Nice, quiet hotel and site is easy access to everything . Front desk can even call a taxi for you when you ask them and your service is there in less than 5 mins . The Free continental breakfast was a bonus and the dining staff was very nice and accomodating . Thank you Hotel San Giovanni . We had a nice time at Rome .

LOCATION: It was a nice stay but definitely on the far side from the center of everything. A 20-25 min walk will bring you to the edge of the Colesseum and it’s uphill, didn’t sound bad when we booked but it’s pretty inconvenient. It’s best to take the bus which is nearby, but if you need to take the train it’s also a 15-20 min walk. Overall I’d choose to stay closer to the center of the city for better night life, as you’d have more dinner options (this hotel is surrounded by residential buildings). This hotel is in a very residential area. You’d definitely want to rest mid day after walking around so much in Rome and go back out for dinner, but because this hotel is pretty remote it wasn’t as convenient. Nearby options that were good were Metronio and Sbanco. HOTEL: standard, modern. Front desk is 24/7 which is always nice to have. Rooms were tiny though. There’s not much else to sit other than the bed. When we first arrived even though it was a chill day; the room was very humid and we had to turn the air con on. There was otherwise no ventilation. Also found a spider and flies around our room but we’ve seen worse so it didn’t bother us. They provide shampoo and bar soap, but bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Breakfast was basic continental! Nothing special SERVICD: for the most part everyone was nice! You can go on days without speaking to anyone at this hotel, like a BnB. Rooms are cleaned everyday, but the towels are crunchy. Beds are soft!

Received a warm welcome from JanLuca! The hotel is located in a residential neighbourhood with a few local shops, restaurants, bakery and fruit market. It is a short 15 minute walk to the Colosseum. We felt safe walking at night. The room was well appointed and clean. The breakfast was terrific, loads of options. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and accommodating. Overall, good value and we would stay again.

Temizlikte bir sorun görmedim. Gayet temiz. Sadece ilk gün temizlik yapılmadı sanıyorum. Odayı bıraktığım gibi bulmuştum otele döndüğümde. Diğer her gün temizlik yapıldı. Eksik olan temizlik yapıldığı her gün konukların kullanımı için bırakılmış ve tüketilmiş olan içme suyunun sonraki günlerde bırakılmamış olması. Öte yandan, kişisel temizlik malzemelerinden en önemlilerinden biri diş macunu olmaması. Malum, havaalanlarından deodarant, parfüm, diş macunu vb.eşyaların geçiş izni yok. Parfüm değil ama diş macunu herkes için günlük kullanılması gereken bir ihtiyaç maddesidir. Banyoda şampuan ve sabunun yanı sıra bulunmalıdır. Kahvaltı ve personel her şeyden başarılı, samimi, özenliydi. Teşekkürler.

Gray, with just a few specks of "color"
This is the blandest 4-star hotel I've ever stayed in (and I don't know why it's 4 star). The palette for the whole hotel is basically gray and off-gray. The color in the hotel picture was not in my room, and in any case the remaining 99% of the hotel is gray and off gray, or light light green. The room was small, and the "furniture" is primarily open built in shelving -- gray of course. The breakfast is very standard, like the color gray. The front desk staff is a drab gray in personality, but they are helpful. Two positives about the hotel: the breakfast staff are excellent at their jobs and have friendly and bright personalities; and the rooms are very clean. Hotel policy is also one bottle of water per stay, regardless if that is one person in one room for just one night or, like us, 3 people in one room for nearly a week. The rest is charged.

I like the residential feel of the neighborhood surrounding the hotel. It is close to most of the major Rome attractions via subway or bus. Being in a residential area, fewer mobs of tourists as you will find in Centro. Great option
