“What a beautiful property! Communication with the owner was fantastic. We rented the three casitas on the property and all were perfect for our group. The grounds and pool were immaculate. The wildlife was abundant with sloths, parrots, toucans, capuchin monkeys, howlers and more. Cesar and Maribel were there for all of our needs and made us feel safe. Would highly recommend for sure!”

“The host lived on the property and was available for whatever was needed. he was friendly and provided us with bottled water. We loved the 3 bungalows. The curtains on the windows were not darkening curtains and did not allow for privacy. therefore you could see into the room when the lights were on. Beautiful place for a large family to stay. I would stay here again. walking distance to the beach, natonal forest and town.”

“This was our second time staying at Villa Toucan. We love the place. It has more wildlife than anywhere else we've been in Costa Rica. Oropendolas, Macaws, Toucans, and Bat Falcons all nesting right in view of the outdoor kitchen. This place also has a large concentration of snakes, spiders, and beautiful Poison Dart Frogs. It's in your face wilderness! The house is tucked up into Manzanillo National Park with a nice walk to one of the prettiest beaches we've seen. We will return again!”

“The primary reason to stay in this casita is the location and the stunning views. The garden is beautiful with a path that opens to La Playa Negra. The beach is quiet and private and absolutely breathtaking. We were able to spot the sloth in the garden on a few occasions and had an up close view of him moving once which was very special. As previously mentioned in reviews, there was a bottle of wine and chocolate waiting for us. We were met to check in and get acclimated to the environment.……

There's plenty to explore in the surrounding community. When not exploring, it is the perfect little oasis for a swim, siesta or overall tranquility. We can't wait to come back!!!”

“This beautiful house is surrounded by lush jungle and wildlife. Stunning. There is no A/C, but the house is well ventilated. Most nights were cool, only 1 was a bit hot. Wifi was reliable for the most part. This is an eco-friendly property so you cannot flush any paper products. We did not have any cleaning services during our 4 night stay. It would have been nice to have had the garbage removed and towels replaced. No laundry. The pool area is spacious and was cleaned every morning. The beach……

“We were a group of 9 people who occupied all 3 cabins. The pictures do not do it justice - the accommodations, pool, and surroundings were idyllic. Awakened to a chorus of howler monkeys, watching hummingbirds feed and the local agouti gathering natural treasures was delightful. Located a short, scenic walk to a beautiful beach, this place was paradise. The hosts were responsive and helpful when minor issues arose. Thank you so much Paola for a memorable stay.”

“Waking up to the sounds of the beach is amazing! Just a short walk down through their beautiful garden with a resident sloth is the black sand and warm waves. The room was quite comfortable. The bathroom could use a couple more hooks for wet items since things take a while to dry. The property managers are extremely responsive to any concerns and very welcoming!”

“The house is beautiful, felt spacious for our group of 8 adults and was very well stocked with everything we needed. The location is perfect as it’s far enough from the busier areas, but close enough to enjoy so much relaxation, beach, hiking. I highly recommend this property and would stay here again! Pura Vida”

“Club Puerto Viejo was amazing. Having access to a pool and other relaxing spaces is what my family needed. We loved the outdoor lounge and kitchen areas. The rooms were great too and usually cooled off at night. We also enjoyed being close to the beach and great places to eat. Those looking for rest and relaxation will love this place!!”

“Lovely resort tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town. You wouldn’t even know it’s there. Need to have coffee makers in the rooms along with access to communal water and ice. For the price, it was expensive.”

The area is beautiful and safe, and the owners make it a point to make sure guests are getting what they want out of a vacation. Thank you for nudging us to bike to Punta Uva, Eric.
