Private lakefront cabin on beautiful Munuscong Bay

Maple Point Hideaway is a cozy secluded cabin on beautiful Munuscong Bay. This private lakefront property is the perfect place for a peaceful relaxing getaway. Early risers can catch a spectacular sunrise right from the screened-in porch, listen to a variety of birds, and watch the wildlife including deer, turkeys, geese, ducks, and our resident Bald Eagles. Start a campfire at night and see the brightest stars or possibly even the Northern Lights! Enjoy the beautiful lake view from the deck and watch for the downbound freighters on the St. Mary’s River or take out the paddle boat that is included (bring your own life jacket). The shallow Bay depths average between 4-6 feet and is known for its excellent fishing, there is a 110 ft. dock and parking available in front of the cabin for a boat trailer, and the public boat ramp is approximately 10 minutes away.
The cabin is fully furnished and sleeps up to 4 people. Two bedrooms have comfortable queen-size log beds and a full bath with a washer/dryer. Bed linens, pillows, bath towels, hand/dish soap, toilet paper, and paper towels are provided. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, silverware, pots & pans, including a coffee pot, glass cooktop, convection microwave oven, toaster, crockpot, and dishwasher. Also included with the rental are the use of a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal), fire pit (bring your own firewood), 4-Adirondack chairs, picnic table, paddleboat, T.V. with an antenna (no cable), Blu-Ray DVD player, Bose stereo with Bluetooth, and a variety of CD’s, DVD movies, board games, and books.
The cabin is perfectly located for all kinds of adventures. It is less than an hour’s drive to the Soo Locks, Cedarville, Hessel, DeTour/Drummond Island ferry, Mackinac Island ferries in Saint Ignace, Kewadin Casinos, and Chippewa County Int. Airport CIU. Take a day trip to Tahquamenon Falls and Whitefish Point in under 2 hours.

Please note:
• 3-day minimum stay
• No Air-Conditioning
• No Wi-Fi internet, and the cellular signal is spotty at the cabin and in the surrounding area. You can use this opportunity to unplug and relax with no distractions.
• This cabin uses a cistern water well system. The water is filtered and clean. However, it is not listed as a potable water system. You will need to bring your own drinking water.

• No smoking inside the cabin or on the porch (please smoke outside and leave cigarette butts in the fire pit)

The perfect spot
The stay was fantastic and the cabin was amazing. It is right on the water with privacy. We loved how everything was labeled and how cozy the cabin was. We recommend this place to anyone looking to get away but also be within driving range of all the great spots the UP has to offer.

The No Hassle Cabin aka Soul Quenching Sunrises
To put it mildly. During our stay at this well above standards of cleanliness. We explored miles and miles of the UP. The Cabin was so in tune with the nature of the UP that we had changed our plans just to make sure we could enjoy the cabin! I LOVED the grill set up! I don’t know how many times I said that out loud while I was grilling BBQ chicken zucchini and roadside sweet corn! The beds were so comfortable TV worked great for the isolation. It is an absolute treasure!! My hats off to the Dave & Suki VanSweden! They made our trip even better just by being there at a moment’s notice for questions and insights! A pleasure to rent from them and even more of a pleasure to experience the UP in the care they show with a great Cabin! I can tell you so much more. But the little and big surprises you find there is best left to your own discoveries! You won’t be disappointed…

Lovely cabin on a lake
Property was very clean and all you need in the kitchen. Beds are comfortable with nice linens. View was great and we liked the screened porch. The cabin felt newly redone and well cared for. It would be nice to have Wi-Fi since cell reception is spotty.

Great Getaway!!
This is the perfect cabin for two, four or a small family. Everything was above expectations and exactly as presented on the website. Very clean, comfortable and the cabin has everything you need. Took us a bit to figure out the pop-up power strip in the counter but that was on us! Suki responded immediately when we had a small issue with door lock. Great place and great owners! Thank you Suki and David for a great stay.

Serenity now!!!
Excellent property and cabin! If you’re interested in a beautiful, peaceful, secluded destination, this is it! We enjoyed using the paddle boat, bonfires and soaking up some sun on the dock. I tried to swim but the muck made me squirm and my water shoes kept getting stuck in the muck, so no bueno for this girl. We caught one fish! The property is probably the most beautiful we’ve stayed at. About 45min from the soo. Deli Deli in town is the best!! The cabin was spotless and they provided extra toilet paper/paper towels (we normally have to purchase more on vacation) which was convenient. This was our first time to the U.P. and we enjoyed this cabin very much. It would be a great spot in the fall as well.

Brothers Reunion
The tranquility of the location and the beauty of the views made this a welcome change from the more urban life we experience day to day. We loved the decorations in the house. The house was exceptionally well supplied with utensils, appliances and cookware which was so important given the more remote location.We prepared all our breakfast and dinner meals. Each evening we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and having great conversations. Although most of what we wanted to do in terms of activities were at least a half hour drive and in some cases over an hour, the countryside and atmosphere in the UP was refreshing. This was a perfect place to "get away from it all." We have stayed in some wonderful places over the 19 years that my brothers and I have gathered for a week's vacation, but this ranks at the very top for being unique and memorable. Thanks to Dave and Suki for providing such a terrific space to relax and enjoy the UP.

Getaway for Two
We cannot say enough about this property and how friendly Dave and Suki are! This location was everything that we had hoped it would be and then some. Far enough off the beaten path that you’re afforded that feeling of privacy yet stores, shops and restaurants are within a reasonable drive. The cabin was extremely clean with extra amenities that we were not expecting (I.e boardgames, travel cups, movies and business directories). The view out over Munuscong bay is beautiful and a treat to Watch the sunrise over. The entire property is immaculate! We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a family of turkeys that stayed around throughout the week. Overall this was an absolutely amazing experience that made our trip one for the record books. You will not be disappointed by making a reservation here and we will for sure be booking another stay!

The cabin was extremely clean & stocked with all of the kitchen supplies that you’ll need. As well as coffee, paper towels, laundry detergent, towels, etc - That is very appreciated. Lovely, peaceful location & great campfire area! We took day trips to Mackinac Island & Sault Ste. Marie during our stay, but enjoying the cabin was the best part.

Peaceful and pristine
We stayed at the maple point hideaway for our 3 year anniversary. Check in process was smooth, communication with the owners was great, the place was spotless and well stocked with everything we would need- we actually over packed. We enjoyed taking the paddle boat out, sitting by the fire and playing games on the porch on the rainy days. We would definitely recommend staying here and we would love to come back in the near future!

Quiet get away
This was a great place for some quiet time. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and using an app to find out all the birds that we could hear by their calls. We also checked out the different trees from white (paper) birch to red (swamp) maples. The cabin was great, clean and well maintained.
