My most recent stay at Sparrows lodge did not compare to my past stay and it was evident that the new management does not compare to the level of service and hospitality I had experienced in the past. From the moment my girlfriends an I walked up to the checkin desk, we knew something was missing, Colby's welcome. We were not greeted at the table and we were even rudely asked if we were "hotel guests". To that we answered "well yes, we are trying to check in." The first impression did not get much better from there as they did not have our dinner reservation that we had made earlier that week, our massage reservations were also not in "their system", they ran out of the welcome sangria..., they took 20 mins to tell us that they were out of the chicken mole dish we ordered, and when we finally made it to dinner the food took over an hour to come out. A few more disappointments: no misters by the pool, even though it was over 100 degrees, no returning guest gift, even though we know candles and hats were given in the past, and the breakfast was lacking with no eggs or salad that we had in the past. With all these disappointments, we may sadly rethink returning to sparrows lodge until they can return to the level of service and hospitality they had in the past.
