We were very pleased with the location, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful everywhere. The building isn’t brand new but it’s well kept and clean. In fact I was expecting something a bit more old fashioned after looking on the Expedia listing. Overall a very nice time with a beautiful view of Lake Toya wherever you go!

Good for a relaxing family stay.
Nice, huge hotel with adequate service & amenities. Please pay extra attention on your chosen Breakfast and Dinner timing, as efficient as their culture, you are expected to come within the timeslot. Nice view of the Toyako, taxi are available upon request to explore the area. Not much tourist as described in other review.

Have stayed in many ryokans in the past hence was pleasantly surprised to find this ryokan modern and new! The lobby area was really modern looking and check in was a breeze. The Japanese style rooms were also very spacious. Our package was half board, so we had the buffet dinner and buffet breakfast. Both meals were decent with a good spread of food to cater to different palates. Great hotel!

Wide variety of food at the dinner and breakfast line. There were some nice dishes. The soundproofing in the room was terrible and we were jostled awake by the slamming/ closing of doors from other room and crying of babies along the corridor almost every hour until 2am. Onsen was pleasant. Would definitely NOT recommend this hotel overall if you are looking for a good rest.

Great location by the lake. We were able to watch the nightly fireworks from our window. Would have liked to have eaten dinner in our room but there wasn't room service. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel very big and staff very busy.

Wonderful location facing the lake & also short walk to 7/11 convenient store and some family run restaurants. Rooms are spacious but a bit outdated and toilet area is rather tight. It is a big hotel with many guests and they do serve a good breakfast.

Dinner buffet spread not as good, roasted beef was dry (not steak standard) and not much seafood spread, other than fried shrimp tempura and cooked fish. There were many Korean and Taiwanese tour groups in the hotel, so the onsen crowd/vibe didn’t feel very Japanese

This hotel was way better than we expected. We booked a Japanese-style room facing the lake with half board and the price was very reasonable. I thought it’s an old hotel when booking the room and later found that the hotel had been renovated in recent years. I was surprised how nice the hotel looked when checking in. The bathhouse on the 8th floor was so pretty. You could enjoy an unobstructed view of the picturesque lake Toya while soaking in the hot springs. We’re there during the Fireworks Festival and were able to see the fireworks from our room. The dinner and breakfast buffets were so delicious with a lot of food choices. This hotel is definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I’d recommend it to anyone who plan to visit Toyako.

Beautiful accom by lake Toya with gd view. However I’m extremely disappointed to be assigned a level 1 room despite booking a room with lake view. How is staying at level 1 with lake view different from walking outside to view the lake? Was hoping to stay at higher floors but despite asking for change in room, hotel staff was unfriendly and rejected this request. No options were given and they didn’t ask for our preference actually. For paying the price of lake view but end up staying at level 1 didn’t feel worth the price. Hope that hotel can improve on this aspect.
