Waterfront cottage for paddle boarding, kayaking, crabbing, and fishing

This renovated waterfront one bedroom cottage is located in a quiet community called Banks O'dee. Located one hour from DC and close to wineries and historic Virginia.

The house itself offers a view of Cuckold Creek and Perry Branch. We have a large pier that is shared with our home next door, boat ramp and swimming off the pier.

You’ll find an abundance of wildlife here. It's not unusual to be sitting out in the yard, near the pier, and see bald eagles, osprey, swans & great blue heron doing their thing. Frequently, you will see deer standing along the side of Banks O’ Dee Road.

The house is located in an old fashioned charming community, on a creek right off the historic Potomac River. The community is very small and quiet, and the neighbors are very friendly!

The Ospreys have built a nest on top of our boat house. They come in the summer to escape South America’s winter. Sometimes you will experience the pleasure of seeing our American Bald Eagles and the Osprey putting on an air show , in the sky, above you. They love to chase one another. The eagles sit in the trees directly across the creek from us. You can recognize them from their white heads.

You are more than welcome to bring your boat, jet ski, kayak or canoe and use our private pier along with the community boat ramp. You can navigate to several restaurants from Cuckold Creek to the Potomac river. Charter fishing, boat rentals, and cruises can be reserved at nearby Cobb Island. Crab traps, kayaks, paddle boards and bicycles are provided for your use.

Tourism from here: in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC area; One hour to all the following: U.S. Capitol and Museums, Old Town Alexandria, VA, Potomac Mills Shopping Mall (one of the largest malls on the east coast), Mt. Vernon (George Washington's Home), Fredericksburg (Antiques and Civil War battlefields), Robert E. Lee and George Washington birthplaces...Westmoreland Berry Farm.

1.5 hours to Annapolis, MD and Richmond, VA (Kings Dominion Theme Park). It is 2.5 hours to Colonial Williamsburg, Waterworld and Busch Gardens

This is just a great place to relax and decompress from the fast pace of the city life!

Nice views
The property is located in a small neighborhood right by the water. While there are houses fairly close it is quiet with beautiful views. The house is clean and has good appliances/wifi for a comfortable stay. It is a one bedroom with a big bathroom and living room. The screened in patio is good to avoid the mosquitos. One note is for those with mobility issues, the shower/bathtub has a high ledge with a thicker width to get in/out.

lovely Cottage by the water beautiful screened in area you can sit and watch the eagle across the way so relaxing will definitely be back. only comment I would have is run the dishwasher and washing machine while you are out because it’s quite noisy but everything else was perfect. Nice little cottage on the water
Due to it being winter we were unable to take advantage of the amenities but looks like a great place in summer, lots of crab pots and easy access in for kayaking and a nice fishing pier. Views are wonderful!!

A Little Slice of Heaven
Tina’s place was just awesome for our Thanksgiving week holiday. Everything is within an hours drive. We went to DC, Virginia, and throughout Maryland. The area is absolutely gorgeous. This place is a fisherman’s heaven. Everything is provided including poles, bait, and traps. It was too cold to use all the water toys for the lake, but plenty are provided. Come in the summer and you would have no reason to leave. The kitchen was equipped for basic meals including a brand new grill. We did go to the Yacht and Golf Club for a delicious Thanksgiving feast though. Being Thanksgiving we also needed TV for the parade and football. It was super simple to navigate. We truly enjoyed our time here.

Clean home on the water
This waterfront cottage was clean and on a quiet road. Tina was very kind and made us feel at home. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and the washer and dryer worked perfectly. The seafood restaurants in the area are excellent. We enjoyed this pet friendly home and plan on returning.

Great Vacation!

Best vacation I’ve ever had
Our stay at the cottage was absolutely wonderful. So peaceful and restorative. The cottage is lovely and was just perfect for us and our 2 furballs. We were very comfortable in both the cottage and the very cozy neighborhood. But the best part is being right on the water, having the sun rise right into the bedroom and waking up to it. We fell in love with kayaking and enjoyed walks and just sitting on the porch and out on the dock. We plan to go back next year. Thank you Tina!

What a quaint and cute cottage. We were in town for a wedding and needed something pet friendly. This fit our needs perfectly. Beautiful waterfront with everything provided. Owners were so friendly and accommodating. They helped us get the kayaks in the water so we could take a nice trip around the river. Even saw two bald eagles. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great place to get away from it all!
My husband and I had a wonderful 4-night stay at this charming cottage. The river views from the LR, BR and screened porch are incredible. There is abundant wildlife (eagles, osprey, and cranes, just to name a few.) The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen is very well-equipped. I highly recommend this cottage, and we look forward to returning.

We were looking for someplace to go to just unwind and this was perfect. The view from the house was great but sitting on the dock was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, our stay was during 90 degree weather so it was hot out. We took a couple short trips to see things but mostly enjoyed our time there. You had everything we could have possibly needed. We picked this place since it was on the water and we could bring our dog who LOVES the water. It was perfect! The first night Tina's husband came over asking if our dog would like the bone from their dinner. I was touched and fell in love with the place a bit more.
