While the Westin boasts a prime location, its status as a four-star hotel accentuated certain drawbacks during my stay. Let's start with the coffee machine—a petite drip model requiring the use of a plastic tray for coffee grounds. This setup raised concerns about potential microplastic contamination in my morning brew. While I don't expect a Nespresso-level upgrade, alternative drip coffee machines exist where grounds can be directly deposited without plastic trays.
Moving on to the ironing situation, the antiquated iron provided proved to be more of an annoyance than help. Despite allowing ample time for heating, it consistently left clothes with water spots during the ironing process. Finally, the blow dryer's outdated and prompting a plea for a modern replacement.
In essence, while the Westin's location shines, attention to these amenity details could significantly enhance the overall guest experience. However, the hotel amenities were amazing, clean and the staff were very welcoming and hospitable.
