Secluded Mountain Cabin, Wheelchair/Powerchair Accessible

Adorable privately owned, custom-built log cabin has 1,400+ square feet and is situated on 9 wooded, secluded acres, yet is just 15 minutes from quaint historic downtowns in North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia, including Blue Ridge. Entering on a specially built ramp (wheelchair and powerchair accessible), the door opens into a large great room with cathedral ceiling. The fully equipped kitchen--microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and panini grill--has a farmhouse table that seats 6. The living room, complete with ceiling fan, is furnished with a large sofa and oversized chair and 48' flat screen HDTV with satellite service, DVR, DVD and wall-mounted stereo speaker system. It opens onto a covered porch that runs the length of the cabin and is cooled by 3 ceiling fans helping the mountain breeze; a perfect place to enjoy the quiet woods while resting in Amish-crafted rockers. Above the living room is a loft furnished with matching twin beds, nightstand and dresser. The master bedroom, furnished with antiques, original art and a queen-sized iron bed, has access to the screened section of the porch through lovely French doors, fitted with adjustable shades for privacy. The bathroom is equipped with a handicap shower with removable shower head, seat and railings. All doorways on the main floor are 36' wide. One side of the furnished basement has a full-size, regulation pool table, air hockey table and two counter-height chairs. The other side has a queen-sized Murphy bed, 37-inch HDTV with built-in DVD player and satellite and DVR service as well as a full bath.

Cozy get away in the woods.
It was a charming place to stay. I loved everything about the little cabin. It was a quite area in the woods. A little off the beaten path. It was easy to get to and close enough to things to do. We had all our meals out and the places we found where great. It was my husband and I, our 3 kids 10,13,15 and my mother in her 70s. Everyone enjoyed the pool table. We wish their had been an air hockey table there. We enjoyed a fire outside one night. The water was ALWAYS hot and we had plenty of towels. There was plenty of cookware and serving and silverware. The coffee pot is a full size pot or K-cup style. You can see for miles and hear nature. We thankfully saw no bears tho 1 of kids was hoping too. I am gald we did not lol. I would like to say a lil FYI... Bring Shampoo, there was hand body wash. Also bring coffee (either style) and cream and sugar. Next trip North we will deff restay. Thank you for a wonderful family trip!!!

Great place to stay
We recently stayed at this secluded cabin & found it to be spacious, clean & quiet, just as described. It was a great place to use as a home base as it was centrally located with just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Young Harris, Blairsville along with Murphy NC. It's close to many good restaurants such as the Toccoa River Restaurant & all the ones in downtown Blue Ridge as well.

Beautiful cabin -- Great stay
Lovely property...great owners, very responsive and helpful. Cabin was spotless, well equipped kitchen, nice linens. Beds comfortable! I slept on the Murphy bed downstairs and slept well. We really enjoyed our stay! Handicapped Accessibility The cabin itself is handicapped accessible with an entrance ramp and a second ramp onto porch, walk in shower with small lip, shower seat and toilet riser with siderails. Bathroom will just allow wheelchair access and ability to close the door. You may still need bench or transfer board to use shower. The driveway in front of the cabin is loose rocks which is almost impossible for wheelchair or walker user. It is also steep. The paths beside the house down to the fire pit and to the creek path are too steep for wheelchair.

The listing of the property on the website was accurate. Contacting Larry and Joyce was a breeze. The cabin was so close to everything, and the restaurants in Blue Ridge were great. Cant wait to stay again. Was a great birthday weekend for my wife.

The house is just wonderful! A great getaway from the city, but still close to shopping and with good wifi. A freak storm rolled through leaving us without power and running water for the remainder of the stay. Larry made sure we had what we needed to make it work. I would come back and stay again!

Nice stay for other-abled guests!
Very comfortable and quiet place. Met the needs of my mother who requires accessible facilities. The drive in is challenging for people who are leery of narrow gravel roads, but I quite enjoyed the drive 😊

Little cabin in the woods
The only reason i gave 4 stars for accuracy is because of 1 picture of the front door. Plants have grown since that picture was taken. I personally love the seclusion and the 1 car path to get there. Reminds me of growing up in those mountains when roads werent paved. This cabin is set up for families, pets and someone in a wheelchair. As the bio says take your own knife. Ill definitely be keeping an eye out for when it is available again.

Quiet, quaint getaway
We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and privacy that came with not having any traffic passing & we love the cabin. I would suggest some condiments in the fridge like ketchup, mustard, etc & some things such as foil, plastic wrap & zip lock bags. It was no problem for us because we take our own but I'm sure many would find it very thoughtful & helpful. Most places we've stayed in do provide such..

We really enjoyed the cabin a lot. It was well prepared and the pool table was a total plus. The cabin's location is perfect for someone looking for an adventure and enjoying nature! We were close to stores yet far enough to be considered private. The nearby falls were beautiful and easy to get to from the cabin. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much!

Everything was wonderful! The cabin is a slice of heaven in the woods! The overall location in proximity to hiking and other things to do was great. We had our 2 dogs with us and we all loved wrapping up each day with a trek down to and along the stream. The cabin was very clean and well represented in the listing photos. Perfect place for a mountain cabin get a way- we def plan to go back!

Beautiful cabin in the woods. Met our needs well. Had my handicapped mother on trip cabin being handicap accessible was a major plus. Location was centrally located to all the areas we wanted to visit. Two things that would be beneficial would be a taller commode & slight raised area on ramp that needs to be highlighted. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip & would rent this cabin in the future

Absolutely loved this cabin!
The cabin was beautiful and cozy. The hosts provided everything that a guest might possibly need. There were leashes and a flashlight to walk your dogs, a fully stocked kitchen (all you need to bring is the food), firewood, a first aid kit, ect.. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to booking this cabin again.

Quiet cabin in the woods. Beautiful, clean, and perfect for us.
Our two granddaughters loved the loft. They enjoyed exploring and hiking to the creek. The outdoor fire pit was a great place to relax and roast hotdogs and s'mores. The place was equipped with everything we needed and was convenient to the apple orchards, as well as the scenic railway. Our host was super friendly and accomodating. The girls loved his sweet dog, Layla. We may return with our grandsons next year!

Cute, private dog friendly cabin
We absolutely loved this cabin. Had everything we needed. It was private, dog friendly with a fenced yard and the back deck was perfect for coffee in the morning and drinks later in the day. The one lane gravel road was daunting the first time going in but was fine after that. I liked the location, too. It felt like you were far from everything because of the privacy, yet all our outings were a close drive. And Larry, the host was so sweet and friendly. We'll definitely be back!!
