Upon our arrival, we asked Arun, the manager of the property, for a local guide. He introduced us to Carlos who is bilingual and offers tours. George and Sarah, the owners of Casa del Maya were delightful hosts. It felt like family our entire visit. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel at ground level so expect some traffic noise, if you are a light sleeper maybe you better look for a different option, for us it was not an issue and we enjoyed every minute we spent there. Can’t wait to visit them again. Thanks."

"The hotel is excellent and all the staff is great! Only one suggestion. A hotel of this category should not ask for a voluntary tip for the cleaning staff. Hotels of similar level in other parts of the world don’t ask for any extra payments. "

"The building is old, and lack of maintenance. The first room assigned to me had mold, walls very duty, and the smell of humidity was very strong. I asked for another room and the smelly feet odor was penetrated. The bathrooms had a smell of draining water and the temperature was very hot making it hard to breathe. The sheets were not clean. I found another room in a hotel for the same price and it was excellent."
