McLean Park is a scenic leafy spot a few blocks inland from the sandy strand of North Myrtle Beach. It features large green areas and trees that border a charming lake. Sit on a bench overlooking the water for a chat with friends in this picturesque setting. Relax and watch both people and ducks go by.
The park also has a pair of sheltered picnic areas with wooden tables. Enjoy the utter tranquility in this quiet setting in a fairly residential area of North Myrtle Beach. Stroll out along the wooden pier that extends across part of the lake, appreciating the views of the water.
For something a little more active, play a few sets with a friend on the well-kept tennis courts or sit on the steps outside the court to watch others at play. Cheer on players in a game of baseball on the large field. Go jogging around the perimeter of the park, which covers 10 acres (4 hectares) of green terrain in the heart of the city. The paved path runs for 0.5 miles (1 kilometer) and has fitness activities alongside it.
The park is also an ideal spot to spend a pleasant afternoon with your family. Let your kids have fun in one of the two playgrounds. Note that one play area is for toddlers, while the other is appropriate for older kids and encourages exercise. The tennis and baseball areas are first come, first served, unless local sports communities have reserved them for summer events.
