"The Hotel San Marco is a modern hotel with every amenity for the traveler, including hotel bicycles and umbrellas! The location is just a few safe, walkable blocks to the historic walled city. A large buffet breakfast selection starts the day, and a glass of wine at the pool area is a welcome rest at the end af the day. Every staff member is cheerful, helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend this hotel."

"The hotel is located well in the old city. I had lunch and breakfast outside on the sidewalk near the carousel. The food was excellent and the service superb. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortable. The only thing I did not like was the location. My room was in the interior and I only saw a staircase. I should have asked for a different room. "The location of this property is amazing, although a little difficult to find if you're using Google Maps. As its on the opposite side and end of the lane than shown. My host for the stay, Franca, has been lovely and offered some great suggestions of things to see/do on arrival. The rooms themselves are beautifully decorated, however I found the bedding and pillows particularly uncomfortable. Also, the rooms are not soundproof at all, which is understandable given the age of the building....

My room was well maintained and I really like the fact that there was always somebody at the front desk in the event I had a question. Giovanni was very helpful on arranging transport for me to the train station.. I look forward to return to Lucca when I do, hopefully I'll be able to stay at this property again."
