Don't sleep on this one
Great place to stay, exactly as described and pictured. Just a short walk away from restaurants and shops and a few blocks from the beach. Parking can be difficult, but not impossible. I stayed over a weekend and found a place on the same street nearly every time. Only once I had to park on the next block and could cut through a private parking lot to access the unit. Just to note, I am a female traveling alone and felt very safe there. Because of the closeness to the main shopping and eating area there can be minimal noise from people and vehicles outside. The host has provided a white noise machine that helped to drown out any noise. Overall, a great experience. Would stay there again.

Great experience
This studio was so cute! It was so clean when we checked in and check in was easy peasy. The area has many spots to eat at which is nice and parking wasn’t so much of a hassle. Would definitely stay here again in a future Long Beach visit!

Quiet, cozy, and essentially relaxing.
Everything in the place felt clean and fresh. The floors, linens, all surfaces were all clean. I appreciate the kitchen and it's amenities like the cookware, appliances, and most of all...the coffee machine! It felt good to see a rack of coffee pods instead of a measly two count that most places offer. The heater kept the room warm and the water for the tub was quick to get hot. Nice neighborhood also as it feels safe enough to walk around in and parking isn't too bad. Not a bad place at all, maybe a little cramped for tall bulky people but, overall it was a great visit for me. I appreciate what the hosts supplied in their place for guests as others leave theirs virtually empty. Would definitely recommend and consider another visit in the future.

This great little studio is one block away from Second Street's upscale shopping area. That being said, parking is difficult to find during business hours. Before going to sleep and waking up, I heard someone annoucing over a loudspeaker to clear the streets. Noise is a problem during business hours, but quiet late at night and early in the morning when locals are going to work; walking their dogs. The owner addressed my problem immediately when I had difficulty entering the key code. Great location for shopping and night life, but not so great if looking for peace and quiet.

Nice studio apartment in heart of Belmont Shore.
This is a nice, clean and well equipped studio apartment in the heart of Belmont Shore. It’s a four unit building with street parking. I had no problem finding parking even on street sweeping day. Perfect place for a couple. Checkin and checkout was simple.

The studio was in a good location. It was small, but sufficient for sleeping and being close to activity. The communication with the owner was not the best. It eventually worked out but there was some stress with entering the apt. and the info that we are supposed to receive just prior to checking in.

Very professional and friendly! I would utilize this place whenever I’m in town! Easy check in and check out (contactless process was super easy) and the place provided great comforts ex: shampoo, towels, it was set up nicely like a nice hotel would be stocked, it felt like a great “home away from home” experience and five out of five stars from reservation to checkout. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good location but not up to our standard
The unit was clearly a slap together remodel so just not our taste, there was only one single fork and not a lot to be said about the kitchen, and the most unfortunately part was having to catch the cockroach that was running around the kitchen. The best part about this property was the location, parking was a bit of a hassle but there’s an endless amount of food/drinks right around the corner and a beautiful walk to the beach regardless of what road you take. The area was great and we will visit again but will not be staying in this unit again.

Casita by the beach<3
We had a great experience with this little casita by the beach. Host was super nice and flexible- I asked to shift my reservation dates one date earlier and he was so nice about it! Didn’t even charge us the difference in rate for the Friday night! We loved this spot! Will be telling my friends about this location. Thank you John!

The house was perfect for my husband and I. Quiet street, our stay was Monday-Wednesday and the steeets/neighborhood were very chill, we walked everywhere, the walk to the ocean was 10 minutes. Will definitely stay again, great place for the price.

When we arrived, the couch was stained. It looked like an old stain & we didn't think much of it. I didn't take a picture of the stain & lesson learned, I should have. After checking out, the host messaged me about the stain and I told him I don't know what happened. He messaged me back and said I was lying - that the cleaners said the couch was stain free before my check in. This is not true. He filed a claim with my rental insurance for around $400. I'm not sure if he is trying to scam people and their insurance but this is what it feels like. Do yourself a favor & report any stains to the host before you set your bags down. A nice vacation has turned into days of dealing with this host badgering me about the couch stain that I had no part in. Wont be renting from this guy again.

Hi Hannah, We've had our same cleaners for the last 4 years and they have no incentive to report a false claim. We are going strictly off of the reports of our 2 cleaners which I verified separately. We rarely ever file a claim but the stain that reported required us to buy a brand new couch.

Great location but needs improvements
This place is in a brilliant location, you can walk straight onto 2nd Street. We found parking really easy. It’s a modern interior and the bed was really comfy. Downsides are as many have said, the walls are so thin you can hear everything either side of you (you receive a list of rules before you stay including no noise after a certain time of night but with no sound proofing it’s a bit pointless). Like another person said, the light switch was hanging off the wall and wasn’t fixed by the time we arrived. A plug socket was the same. We booked for 8days which is too long here, we had one wardrobe space with maybe 5-6 coat hangers and when we opened the wardrobe, there was lots of ‘house maintenance stuff’ which we had to move before we could settle in. The facilities in the laundry room weren’t clean (inside there was dried paint & plaster) so we opted to do our washing elsewhere. I messaged John during our stay as the iron seemed to be missing, he replied once asking me to confirm it definitely wasn’t there. I did this then never heard back from him. Not a huge deal but it meant we couldn’t wear certain clothes for the remainder of our holiday as they were creased. Finally, on the morning we were leaving there was a power cut. I happened to have just started drying my hair. Again, not a huge deal but again I messaged John to let him know - no apology which isn’t great. I’d say this is a great place for short trips and ideally solo travellers.

Clare, Thank you for the candid review. Unfortunately we had a some repairs that needed to be done due to our previous guests that are now all handled. We unfortunately did not notice the iron missing which has been replaced. Nonetheless we hope you still had a good stay here. :)

Youre in a great location. I took the bus to the long beach grand prix and it runs literally a block away - much cheaper and honestly easier than dealing with uber. The surrounding restaurants are plentiful and there’s tons of retail, with close proximity to the beach. The light switch was falling out of the wall though and there were quite a few warnings about volume, from closing the front door to the TV volume which I thought was odd. When I got there, I was able to clearly hear a full conversation from whoever was staying next to me. I’m not really picky about that, but if you need dead silence to sleep you should bring some ear plugs.

Cozy Belshore Studio
The studio was as advertised, clean and well appointed. It is perfect for one person, a bit cramped for two. It is just off second avenue which is full of interesting restaurants and shops. That is worth the visit by itself. Beach access is easy and the beach is quite nice. We had a brief hiccup with the laundry room key which never showed. John did get me into the laundry room. The washer and dryer were not working and I had to figure out why and get the working.
