Marx is an excellent host and the location is very convenient and central to visiting the different parts of LA. The amenities were especially wonderful - there were snacks, food readily available in the fridge, stocked kitchen, as well as washer/dryer. In the Bronze room a mini fridge was available and private bathroom. Very clean. Check in is very convenient, but I do feel the Expedia description regarding the check in could be a bit more detailed. The August App is used for check in, and requires text confirmation, so if you are roaming without text while visiting this can become difficult. Regardless, you can also gain access through ringing the bell, and the host is extremely responsive! This information would be useful to include so people can download and set up the app in advance/ make plans accordingly if there are technical barriers to this method of entrance. Secondly, parking was convenient however it would be useful to include that parking spots are limited. There are two spots totaland one street parking permit available, and it can be difficult to find a street parking spot especially later at night. This information does not seem to be on the Expedia app but is emailed to travellers later on after booking. It would be helpful to include this in the Expedia description so people can make plans accordingly. All in all this is an excellent stay for value, and I would give it 5 stars if the above was included in the description! :)

The house was in a quiet neighborhood with a cute park nearby. The host was responsive and helpful when needed. Even though he suggests using rideshare because of potential parking issues, he was able to save us a spot because we had to drive in from out of town. Just be aware that the neighbors aren't always as conscientious: there was often garbage littering the sidewalks and pet owners didn't always clean up after their dogs. Otherwise, it was a good stay and pet-friendly - our dog quite enjoyed running up and down the stairs!

Pos- modern design. Comfortable Neg- Keurig in my room did not work. Wifi, listed in kitchen, did not connect via my phone. Trash left on sidewalk (from neighbor who left?). No outdoor area as listed on line. Found out after purchasing 2 nights that I needed a ($300.00) door security 'smart phone ' that I could have bought, used, and either returned or kept for that price. The only way to get into the building was to contact the man in charge (when available) from the touch/photo next to the door, for him to unlock it electronically.!!!

We loved our short time at this location. It’s very well situated, clean, and there was planty of food available for a breakfast or a quick snack. Host was very pleasant and answered our questions and requests pretty quickly. We would definitely book it again if we are ever back in Los Angeles. We stayed in the smallest available room (Bronze), which was indeed small, but, we were not there to spend much time in the room and it had everything we needed (bed, of course, but a microwave, small fridge and a full bathroom)

The communal kitchen is amazing, gives you the opportunity to cook in a full sized kitchen if you’re looking to save money instead of going out. The bed was very comfortable and the massage chair in the room was great after a long day. Would recommend to other travellers!

I did like the property, clean inside and lots of food. The bathrooms in our room smelled of wet rags. But its did have clean towels and it appeared clean. Just the unpleasant smell. The outside of the property was well maintained. The street was dirty with trash on the sidewalk. Other tush the, a nice place.

Comfy room with easy access to Melrose. Parking lot is small and can be tricky, especially when it gets a bit full. Host made sure we had anything we needed and welcomed us when we arrived.
