Simple beach life is right!
Sweet little cottage …all the basics, neat, clean & comfortable. Easy walk to the inlet for a quick beach fix and short drive to all the other area beaches. Wonderful dinner & homemade sangria at A Touch of Italy …awesome sandwiches at new lunch favorite Honey’s. King size bed is firm as listed… bring an extra mattress topper if your preference is a bit fluffier. Megan was super to work with! Great relaxing getaway…

Loved the proximity to the beach
Very hot week and AC was marginal, but we really enjoyed our stay. Only issue with the house was that the front door, a slider, was very difficult to use. Quiet and peaceful and great that we could bring our dog. Would rent again.

Great location with basic accommodations
We really enjoyed our stay at this property because of the location -- it's a 5 minute walk to the beach, right across the main road (Cedar), and you are a quick drive or bike ride to downtown Lewes. The listing is very accurate -- this is a very simple beach cottage. It's clean, but definitely older, and you have to provide all your own linens, towels, etc, and there are not things like bath mats in the single bathroom. Everything works well, but is very old and a little wonky; for example, the house is not on a level foundation, so shower/tub does not drain all the way on its own -- which is annoying if you have a bunch of sand getting washed off! There is conveniently an outdoor shower, which is great for doing a pre wash, and a vacuum is in the house which helps for getting rid of sand in the house. For anybody planning to use the pull out couch for sleeping, bear in mind it's in the same room as the TV, which is also where the main entryway is, and there are no window coverings in that room to make it dark once the sun is up. The house backs up to the marsh, which we saw get high up about 10 ft from the back of the house when the water levels were high -- note just in case anyone is coming with kids that might be wandering out back by themselves! The owner was very easy to communicate with, and gives very clear instructions. This is definitely a bare bones house, and works great if all you need is a spot to land to go to the beach for a few days.

Great for a couple and a dog!
We had the coziest stay here! The cottage is clean and comfortable and has such a lovely view over the marsh for those rainy days. It's a quiet stretch of beach with a sandbar which was lovely for our dog in the mornings and evenings. We went to Cape Henlopen several times - it's so close - for their all day dog beach and stronger waves. We liked the nearby Wheelhouse restaurant and saw there are several others nearby and a food court for food trucks. We'll be back!

4th of July in Lewes
This is listed as 1BR/1BA, but it there’s an additional room that makes it feel much larger. The property is quiet and it’s a short walk to the beach. Lewes Township fireworks on the beach on 4th of July are always a highlight of the summer for my family, as are the wonderful restaurants in town. The wetlands behind the property were also an unexpected bonus, which makes the stay quieter and more serene, and even affords some bird watching opportunities.

Close to beauty and quietness
The property is as described. The house affords enough space for four to stay in it, and the outdoor shower is a great option to get more people ready around the same time. The street is quiet, so you can sleep peacefully each night. It is close to the beach, where you can enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The beach located near the property has less activity from visitors, so it feels as if you are having a more personal experience.

Low Key Lewes Vibes
If you’re looking for a relaxing and peaceful week or weekend getaway, this is your place! Beautiful (and clean) 1 bedroom place with convenient pull out couch that overlooks the canal. Top that with a 2 min walk to the beach or 5-10 min walk to the yacht club. Friendly neighbors and quaint town. Definitely recommend renting bikes though! The host was quick to respond, so nice and flexible (let us bring our two dogs which was unbelievable). Also very much enjoyed the vacuum for easier cleanup. Will definitely stay again!!

Perfect Quiet Beach Getaway
The property is small, but you don't need much space. There is a good TV for nights in or if it is raining. You can almost see the beach from where you are, and during our stay it was not crowded at all. This was perfect for a couple and our pup, the neighborhood is quiet, you're within 15 minutes of anything you might need, including some amazing restaurants. A great little getaway. The outdoor shower helped to rinse off after the beach, making it easier to keep everything clean. I do wish there was a vacuum available to make "final day" clean up quicker, but there are 3 brooms sitting around the house. An excellent experience!

Good but barebones/basic
The location of this property was great. We were there towards the end of summer so most of the crowds were gone and the beach was only a block away. That being said, the property itself is very basic and barebones. We brought bath towels, bed sheets and paper towels as suggested in the welcome email. However, there weren’t even any kitchen towels, napkins, bathmat or toilet paper. There were only 2 thin blankets for the bed and a smaller throw blanket. Definitely not enough pillows and the pullout couch is in the smaller area right next to the main entrance way and didn’t have any curtains on the door so there’s no privacy to the outside world (it should be in the actual living room where there’s more privacy). Also the kitchen is super basic and the gas stove made a weird sputtering sound and took forever to cook on. The microwave was all the way up on top of the refrigerator so we had to step on a chair in order to access it - it’s also not that powerful so expect to put some extra time to heat your food. Lastly there were hornets in the both entrance. We got stung which was super painful and overall buzz kill (no pun intended) to the vacation. This all being said, Lewes is a great destination for a low key getaway. We will definitely be back but probably not to this property.

We loved our stay at this adorable Lewes Beach cottage! The location is great proximity to quickly being on the beach. There is a beautiful view out the back of the home, and we loved sitting and having our coffee while looking across the marsh and watching the boats go down the canal. The house was a perfect setup and size for us, our pup, and our 1 year old. He loved the basket of trucks he found in the sunroom. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We enjoyed our time at this property. The house is bigger than it looks, plenty of space for my family of 4. Everything was clean and as described. It was an epically hot week, and the AC worked well. Great proximity to the beach, close to town, and loved the outdoor shower! Highly recommend.

Perfect location for our first visit to Lewes
My 8 year old and I stayed at this property and loved the proximity to the bay and town. It was a perfect spot for us to get to know Lewes and some of the surrounding areas. We ended up eating every meal at home, and I found the kitchen to be basic but efficient. We used a lot of the host’s recommendations from the welcome packet as well and were happy with all of them.
