Wonderful experience!
The Old Farmhouse was absolutely perfect. The inside space was clean and beautiful, lots of sleeping options, stocked kitchen and bathrooms, and the added touch of the cookies, milk, eggs and butter was very sweet! Ada was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. The outdoor spaces and location were phenomenal. Beautiful gardens, and the kids absolutely loved the animals - Jack the horse is the sweetest! The location was perfect for what we needed - close to modern conveniences (Wal Mart, CVS, Wawa, Dunkin, McDonalds and more), close to the highway, but also just a 10-15 minute drive from Kitchen Kettle Village and many other shopping experiences unique to the area. Highly recommend this rental for a family gathering, or just a peaceful stay away. Thanks Ada!

We enjoyed our stay here. The house is very big and accommodates quite a few people. The best part was feeding the animals! Even my grown up kids had a blast doing this. We'd definitely stay again.

Old fashion country charm. We enjoyed the old farmhouse and the animals. Listening to the sounds of horses coming down the road. Lots of space for my multi generational family to enjoy. We will definitely visit again. The hosts had an eye for detail from the fresh flowers to the cookies and milk waiting for us. Such a pleasant stay.

Family gathering
My sisters and I rented the Old Farmhouse for a long weekend to spend time together with our children and grandchildren. The house was a perfect venue. The home is beautiful, clean and spacious. Upon entering you feel a sense of peacefulness. The owners put a lot of effort into making the home feel warm and welcoming, leaving eggs, milk, butter, cookies, fresh cut flowers in several rooms and necessary toiletries. Our children and grandchildren loved feeding the horse, donkey and goats the apples and food that was provided. The landscaping and sunset views were spectacular. We especially loved the large kitchen table where we could all gather for meals and to play games. Our children and grandchildren are already looking forward to returning for another family gathering next year. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

The Perfect Getaway for a Large Family
We absolutely LOVED this home! It was old, yet you could tell it had been modernized. That didn't matter to us, however, we loved the personality of the old home. Our favorite was the screened in porch. This is where we spent all of our downtime at! We loved hearing and watching the horse and buggys drive by whether it be morning or afternoon. One day we heard a buggy drive by singing "There's no God like Jehovah." We couldn't help but join in! We also loved watching the horse, donkey and goats while sitting there and the kids absolutely LOVED feeding them everyday with the apples the host left for us. The host even left milk, eggs, butter, and yummy cookies for us upon arrival. The home was very clean and fit our needs for our family of 12 perfectly! We hope to be back to Gap one day and stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Amazing experience!
We all agreed hands down this home provided the best night’s sleep any of us have had in awhile!! The beds, pillows, bedding and amount of available blankets were spot on…we like to sleep chilly! Scented hand soaps in the bathrooms made it feel like home. Ariana was super responsive (on a Sunday even) when we had some difficulties! So helpful and took care of it right away! This place was amazingly relaxing! The clip-clop of the horses late into the night was so relaxing! We wished we had a week to spend! Only tidbits I’d add for improvements and they are minor things…a tissue box would have been nice to have…coming from out of state to much cooler weather had most of us with drippy noses. And another touch would just be a small trash can by the coffee bar to throw away tea bags, etc. Not a huge deal, but hate to drip tea on the floor running to the trash can! It was a GREAT visit! Thank you!!

Lovely farmhouse in Amish country
This house was perfect for our family trip to Amish country. The owners put a lot of thought into the details and left us some cookies, milk, eggs, butter and coffee, which was very much appreciated. They were very responsive over email both before and during our trip. The house itself is charming. It was very clean and our group of 7 had plenty of space to spread out. Household items like dish soap, sponge, hand soap and toilet paper were all provided. The kids had plenty of space to play outside and loved the tire swing out front and the animals in the meadow. The owners left us apples to feed the horse and donkey, and there is goat feed in the barn for the goats. At one point, one of the goats used its little steps to climb up onto the horse’s back and was just hanging out, standing on top of the horse. 🤣 The horse is so sweet and patient, he didn’t seem to mind. There’s also a basketball hoop hanging on the barn so you might want to bring a basketball with you if you like to play. The location of the house was great in relation to Amish country attractions. One day we went to Old Windmill Farm and the other we did the Strasburg Railroad.

Thanksgiving getaway
We had 2 adults and 5 children stay here for 5 days over Thanksgiving. The house is very spacious, with plenty of couches, several sleeping options, and the highlight for us- a dining room table that extends out large enough for eating on one end and playing games/doing puzzles on the other. Laundry was easy to use, plenty of extra towels, kitchen stocked with basic items for cooking and baking. We played in the yard and loved having the animals to feed and visit each day. It’s an old charming farmhouse with some small quirky things- like uneven floors and a faint “old house smell,” which I only mention in case someone was very sensitive to smell. I expect these things when I book a place like this. It was very clean and easy to keep warm and enjoy our time together.

So much character!!!
This 1700’s house exhibits the best parts of such an old place in an updated way. The floors are anything but level, they simply didn’t have the technology at the time to do it perfectly and enduringly, but the owners have added hidden supports which now maintain things well. We actually found quite a bit of amusement (my brothers are architect and engineer) in occupying such an antiquated house! The floors are thin enough to hear conversation downstairs, but we didn’t care, it actually made it easier to keep tabs on what the kids were up to. There are many details around the property to enjoy, the small koi pond, the second story balcony with outdoor furniture, the swinging bed in a tree beside a field with an apple loving horse, donkey and goats who love talking and petting. Our 9 kids played an amazing game of hide and seek! The kitchen was ready for our food preparations. The many couches afforded the seven adults plenty of nooks to converse. If you get a chance to chat with the Mennonite owners, do it, they are interesting and very friendly. They will invite you to church and I wish we had made time for that experience. We left a note with them suggesting a couple of very minor maintenance suggestions since they invited feedback, but you will likely not find the same issues since they seem really proactive about hospitality. I had mentioned having a fire pit (they did have one but it was so rusted they removed it before we arrived) and they came the same day with a new one and wood. S’mores beside the tire swing oak tree that night was so memorable! They supply a binder with expectations (all very reasonable) and resources which was helpful. We drove 10 minutes to “Money Rocks” for an interesting hike one day, and shopped at the Amish Store up the road. The beds were comfortable and the linens were fresh. On another day, per the families suggestion we left early for a two hour drive to Rehoboth beach, amazing. Overall a great investment that made five days in Pennsylvania a time of undistracted family intimacy.

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute we spent at this lovely home. Ariana was very responsive to our every inquiry. The house was immaculate. The property was decorated in a lovely manner-so welcoming, and the multiple trips we made throughout the day to visit the horse, donkey and goats were always a highlight. The treats left by Ariana’s family were very thoughtful and thoroughly enjoyed. Loved every minute and will definitely be back!

Unreal
Staying in this farmhouse was a really unbelievable experience, my family and I will remember this trip for a long time. Just talk about my little ones playing in the sandbox and speaking to the horse and donkey at the same time, I promise you, I didn't understand their conversation, but they really did some major deals together. I would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking for a family trip to remember.
