Adorable Vacation Cottage Townline Lake: Paradise! Boat Swim Kayak, Fish, NoPets

This modernized Cottage provides the perfect lake playground for your vacation.

ABOUT THE COTTAGE LOCATION AND THE LAKE

The cottage is 2 places up the inlet/channel to 250 acre all-sport Townline Lake. I've remade the 'old building out back' into a modern experience, with deck, dock, grill, and all the amenities! Relax , play in the lake, launch your own boat, use the kayaks or pedal boat, cook s'mores. Spend days outdoors relaxing, or fishing, swimming, or bike-pedaling around the lake. Kids love to hunt the mighty turtles! There's a firepit.

Attached deck sits over the channel. To one side is a little-used community access lot with children’s swings. Corn-hole game for your competitive streak.

Fish bluegills, bass, crawpy, sunnies, or an occasional bullhead, or pike. There's a bass fishing tournament usually once a month, known for giving up the occasional trophy small-mouth!

WHAT'S HAPPENING CLOSEBY
Hike west Michigan trails, enjoy West Michigan life. Nearby you can visit new wineries, old orchards, or the cheese factory. Head for Amish farmstands for eggs, fabulous West Michigan fruits, and other so-fresh produce. Treat yourself to some of the best country ice cream at King’s Store, famous in these parts.

Head a little further west for Lake Michigan’s pristine shores. Or cast a line into any of Michigan’s more than 65,000 waterways, rivers, and lakes – 11,000+ lakes larger than 5 acres. Here you are never more than a few minutes from some other kind of water, nor more than 85 miles from a Great Lake.

Perhaps you're looking for a quiet getaway for two, and to explore west Michigan? Grand Rapids, 'Craft Beer City USA', is less than an hour away, have a taste at the original Founders. Or sample your favorites and taste an all-new ale at nearby breweries- there’s been an explosion of local/Michigan craft breweries in recent years, not to be missed by the new ale or IPA lover.

And there's a casino in Mt. Pleasant, 45 minutes away.

ACTIVITIES ON TOWNLINE LAKE

Two kayaks and a paddle boat - and there is a public launch for your own fishing boat or pontoon and yoy will tie off at your own private dock.

An island ‘sandbar’ and the shallows – take a bag chair kn a kayak to the sandbar, tie off and sit ankle deep in water on the sandy bottom. Read. Cocktail. If you’re lucky, get called into a game of water-volleyball. Head to the deeper water and swimming-hole cove. Townline Lake's waters warm in June, cool mid-September.

Enjoy birdwatching – we host all of Michigan’s woodpeckers here, we feed the orioles through June, and the hummingbirds all summer. Watch the Buzzard ballet from your deck.. their graceful sky gliding is beautiful to see. Watch Harriette, the great blue heron, as she wades the edges for crawfish.

IN THE COTTAGE

The perfect 'new' place for a getaway for a single person, a couple, or a family/group of four. It’s a fresh welcoming space, 17.5’ x 17.5’, and has two floors with new cottage comforts. Queen size bed down, twin beds up, a little cottage. Pets: it is a pet-free environment, no tobacco smoking, no vaping, permitted inside or outside.

It includes your choice of cooking surfaces, some kept in drawers… a Nu Wave Cook Surface with Nu Wave pans – with Instructions for the first time user. A standard two-element burner in another drawer. An outdoor grill. A griddle. A crockpot. A micro-wave. Firepit. Eating space for 4/5. NO OVEN in this little spot.

PROVIDED:
Dishes/cutlery, cooking appliances, bedding, bath towels, beach towels.

A locker, and baskets and shelves provide more storage space. The downstairs bed is high, with several large tubs underneath for your extra clothes and provisions. Upstairs is a good place to put less-used items.

A queen-sized bed is on the main floor. The upstairs is short. It is a peaked room with just 5’ 5” standing space in the middle, so it's like an attic hideaway with beds on the floor. Two camp chairs look to the channel. And (just) enough space in the attic to add a single air mattress for a five-member family.

Next door, just inside the back door is a washer and dryer for your use.

There's a flat screen tv and dvd available - reception is nil - bring your hotspot and Roku if watching TV. There's so much nothing to do, that no-one has yet said they miss having TV. Some have said "..what was I thinking?" There is pretty reliable SPECTRUM internet service.

A 12x12 deck is perfect for reading, grilling, relaxing, watching boats pass heading to the swimming hole.

ENJOY MICHIGAN!

There are several other water businesses around - kayak, canoe, boat, or float - on nearby river trips . We’ll help with information and directions to the Little Muskegon River, or Big Muskegon River, Rogue River, or any of many other beautiful floatable – some pristine - waterways a half hour/less than an hour away. Newly in our area, a few wineries. Try your luck aat the casino in Mt. Pleasant. Hike the North Country Trail. Bring your bicycles - the Heartlan Trail runs closeby. Bring your ORV and enter the Huron-Mannistee National Forest a half hour from here. Most of all, fish, fish, read.

There are kayak liveries nearby. You bring your own lunch and drinks.

PARKING
2 parking spots and park your boat trailer as well.

Let us know what we can do to prepare for your arrival. Wine and cheese?

We loved the extra lawn chairs. They came in handy when family members came to visit. Everyone is very friendly, neighbors, owner, property manager, even the guy who takes care of the lawn. Couldn’t ask for better people.

Perfect getaway with our pontoon!
We loved our weekend stay and can't wait to go back next summer. We were able to bring our pontoon and dock it right in front of the cabin. We spent most of our time on the lake and we caught lots of fish! Although we went out for dinner they had everything we wouldve needed to cook there. Excited to come back again and will bring the kids next time!

Tiny and no privacy
If you are looking for a spot to drop your stuff and leave, that’s about all it is good for. There is no privacy outdoors from the owner. Too small and felt uncomfortable. Also, common sense rules posted everywhere like you are in school. Not our cup of tea getaway.

Great cozy cottage
We loved this cottage! The beds were comfortable and the loft was a nice little spot for our little to have her own space. It had everything we needed plus more. We spent a lot of time in the water either fishing, swimming, kayaking or paddle boating. The area has a lot to offer. It was a fantastic week!

Jeanne was a great host and very easy to work with. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the kyaks and being on the water. Jeanne was very knowledgeable and helpful. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything was very clean. Our stay was just 2 nights and we were too tired to sit by the fire but we had a great time!

Little cottage on the channel
This was at least our third time staying here. The cottage is perfect for my wife and I. It’s peaceful off the main lake with friendly neighbors. I’m able to bring my boat and tie it off to the dock close to the cottage. There’s great communication with the property manager. We had no issues at all. It was clean and well stocked. The area has plenty to offer including good restaurants, bowling and ice cream shops.

A great spot to get away
Things were cozy and clean in the cabin. It is has a stylish, modern look inside. The bed is very comfortable. All the kitchenware we needed was provided for us. We had all the hot water we needed for showers. The wifi was good for rural Michigan. We enjoyed the calm and quiet surroundings, and spent a lot of time sitting on the deck near the water. Grand Rapids is about an hour and fifteen minutes away. It has good restaurants, brew pubs, and cultural offerings. 5 stars across the board! Thanks, Jeanne!

Cozy Scandi Cottage
This is an adorable cozy little cottage! I have always wanted to stay in a tiny house, and this fit the bill. It has a great location on the channel / lake. For a few days we enjoyed lake life; paddle boating, fishing, the wildlife and birds (including a hummingbird that came near several times), grilling and relaxing on the deck, we also did some fishing. We had a family cottage in the area for many years, so it filled our tanks to spend a few days at this cottage.

Fantastic little getaway spot
This property was exactly as advertised. It was clean and cozy, with the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in - better than any hotel we can think of, in fact! (We didn’t think to check the mattress manufacturer, so if that’s something that can be shared, we’d be so grateful!) The location feels wonderfully isolated, while still being a conveniently short trip into town to stock up on supplies. We made full use of the available kayaks and paddle boat, and enjoyed them thoroughly. The host was quick to respond to any questions we had. This property exceeded our expectations, and we are thrilled we made the choice to stay here

Such a lovely little cottage, very nostalgic, bright, and clean. Opportunities to play and enjoy the lake using kayaks, pedal boat, or relaxing on the deck watching boats go by and fish looking for a hand out. Great restaurants, wineries nearby with live entertainment. Property owner went above and beyond for us during our stay.

CUTE COTTAGE
The cottage was clean when we arrived. We caught tons of fish from dock they have there.. Was going to take the paddle boat out but decided not to.. The neighborhood was calm and quiet. Neighbors were super friendly as well. Our host was amazing . She asked if there was something we wanted sitting there as a gift when we arrived . She made sure we had everything we needed.

Great concept & ideas just didn’t follow thru!
Yard hasn’t been mowed yet, many boards around shed, paddle boat had water standing in it & moldy stuff growing on rope (as if it had been that way awhile), no where to put kayaks in channel, couldn’t see lake at all from cottage(just the neighbors across the canal), didn’t get email on check in process until already in route to cottage- that we had to bring propane tank for table top grill, they told us to go to a grocery store to get tanks, we went there & several other places looking with no luck, outside chairs looked like they had better days & ready to rip out we packed our own as really can’t afford a fall. Cute place & concept overall, just wish owner/manager paid more attention to the little details that mean a lot to customers who really wanted the paddle boat & kayak experience.

A short but great overnight!
This is a delightful little place to stay! My party of 3 friends spent a quiet night away. There was ample space for the 3 of us and the scenery was beautiful. The cottage is situated right on the canal, which makes for a lovely place to spend an evening outdoors, talking with friends. Our only complaint that the only way to cook is an outdoor grill or microwave, but since it was only one night, we managed. We had a lovely time and hope to stay again in the future!
