this is a cool old hotel... we had a balcony looking out over the black sand beach and could hear the surf all night... it was gorgeous and an easy walk from the train station... also an easy walk to innumerable restaurants and pizza places...

Great place on the beach when visiting necropolis
This hotel was charming. Everything, including the ac, worked great. Getting to the Etruscan sites was easy by taxi, not so much by public transit.

This is nice hotel with a perfect location. Walking distance to train station across the street from the beach. The staff was very helpful and did a wonderful job. The hotel itself could use a remodel. The air conditioner is controlled at the front desk so room was a bit hot.

unhappy with fridge not working and cannot use for
this is the second time that I have used this Hotel, no problem on the first visit. The second visit had one disappointment, on bookind I mentioned that I needed a fridge in the room to keep some medicine, like inhaler and insuline, This Must be kept in fridge out of fridge no more then 8 hrs, the fridge? it was like a wet room, warm not even water getting cool, I did mention this to reception, until I left on Sunday 22nd noting was done, had to trow away the insuline, but lukily I foiund a Chemist that sold to me some insuline tablet to help a bit, for the inhaler I had to do without, I did mention this to the receptionist, the answer was that they are set to a temperature, not even an apology just excuses, will NOT use them a\gain next year, will lolok for an apartment, probably will cost more but who cares is only money, at least I can be sure the fridge is working and if not sorted out by owner quikly

Close to beach, friendly staff, needs clearer info
Staff is very friendly. I checked in early and was given the room since it was available. The location is excellent as it is close to the beach and a 15-min walk from the train station. The breakfast was good enough but the server was exceptional. The bedroom was comfortable. It didn't have air conditioning but the ceiling fan was adequate, after all, one would want the air from the sea. Having said that, I'd still recommend that this information be clearly stated on Expedia if the room has a/c or not. After all, the guest deserves to know exactly what he's paying for.

Nice Hotel
On a car trip to Italy. Stayed here on our way back to Rome. Hotel was perfect! Nice classic old building! No on site car parking but you can park in white lined spots on the surrounding streets for free overnight. Breakfast was good and we took our plates along with capacinos to our room and ate on our balcony at our nice table overlooking the sea! Also got a great sunset into the sea the night before from our balcony! Only negative is the area, while on the sea, felt a little past it's prime and kind of ... tired. Eating at the nearby piazza later in the evening was cheap but felt a little edgy. Daytime the area was fine!

Hotel of era passed across the road from the beach
This hotel would have been a grand hotel in its day. A great location across the road from the beach but the downside of this, is all the noise from people on the street at night. With no air con in the rooms you are obliged to sleep with the windows open for cooling air. The shower in the room had to be the smallest shower ever - almost like a houdini act, getting in and out and washed in the space. Proportionally the shower matched the small room. In fact, when someone was in bed, it was difficult to walk between the bed and table without hitting the person's feet. Reception people most helpful but outside dining room hours you could get nothing. Lovely waitress doing the breakfasts.

Hotel overlooking drab beach.
Stayed for 5 nights visiting a family living locally. Room was clean but looked tired. Bed firm but ok when you got used to it. Breakfast. No fresh fruit just tinned. Disappointing. Wanted a toasty for breakfast but the machine wasn't working. They replaced it two days later. Pastries. If you got there in good time there was choice if you arrived late there was usually nothing left. Would not chose to return to this hotel.

Hotel is located right on the beach! Very nice location! The internet is free! Please note that NOT all rooms have AC...this is not clearly indicated! so make sure to ask! The breakfast was ok! Not many choices but still good! The towels provided are very thin! I had never seen that before! Very clean!

Functional hotel
This hotel was near the airport and met our functional needs. The person who helped us was great. The room was functional and met our needs, nothing special. Our beds had sand in them between the top sheet and comforter, but the room appeared clean otherwise. I would stay here again as an airport launch spot.

Simply perfect
This hotel was very handy for me and my partner as we were visiting family in Ladispoli, the train trip to Rome is only 20 minutes so it was also very easy to visit "The Eternal City". The room was very clean and tidy, the staff was very helpful and friendly and spoke very good English. All in all this hotel is a plus to anyone wanting to visit Rome and get back to a nice quiet town just outside of Rome.

Great place to stay for all the right reasons
My husband and I stayed at the Miramare for 5 days in mid-September, 2011. The hotel is older but very classic and all the amenities are very clean and comfortable. Our room opened up to the Mediterranean and we could sit and watch the sea from our big balcony. We would eat a great lunch that we picked up at one of the many local shops and sip some light frizz ante while munching on olives, sweet tomatoes, incredible meats and cheeses! There were really great restaurants all around the hotel so dinner was just trying to decide which restaurant to eat in. The hotel has a great restaurant too, featuring fresh seafood dishes that were perfect. The hotel staff was absolutely wonderful and so helpful. The room, the bathroom, and the balcony were very spacious. The town doesn't offer anything really cultural, but you are 1/2 hour away from downtown Rome via the train so you can easily spend time in the big city and then escape to Ladispole and the Hotel Miramare. A previous comment complained about the black sand beach and it really was black sand but it was really beautiful and apparent a spa for early Romans! Another comment complained about the electricity being turned off when you leave the room, which is true, but we did not find that to be a problem at all and it was about 90 degrees every day when we were there! I definitely recommend this hotel. It is lovely and a very romantic place to stay!

Miramare - small town atmosphere
The hotel was just what we were looking for. It gave us a small town experience in Italy. Close to the beach, many restaurants close by, good breakfast included, staff was freindly and helpful, and walking distance to the train station with connections to Rome, Airport, etc. The only thing negative was the size of the shower - it was too small. But great experience. Thanks!

3 STARS ? how did they get those ?
I stayed in this hotel for 7 days. Mistake. This was my first time in Italy.. so maybe my complaints are not valid... but for real.. I will not be coming back anytime soon. First... ladispoli Italy is NOT for Tourist from America. It Caters to People from Rome.. looking to get away from the City. If you do not speak Italian.. good luck. The Hotel is Acient.. (1914 ? ).. not all the rooms have Air Conditioning... make sure you request it. TO get Electric in your room, you need to keep your room key in some type of electric box on the wall.. if you remove your key the electric goes out after 30 seconds. so thus.. if you leave your room... and you come back after an hour it will be super HOT and stuffy as the AC will shut off automatically. The TV is a 13 INCH flat screen... YES 13 INCHES.... and every chanel is in Italian. Bathroom was clean.. and it had a Bidet... but nothing fancy. There were cigarette burns on the bed spread. small refridgerator in room... kept nothing cold... probably shot from losing electric so much. Request to have it fixed were ignored. If you need to Exchange Money in This Town.. do it at the airport... or go to downtown ROME.... there is NO PLACE in this town to change it.. execpt the banks and after wasting 3 hours... in 4 banks I was finally able to exchange $300 to EUROS... The included breakfast is the same everyday. Two types of cold Ceral.. Bread, sometimes luncheon Meat, sometimes swiss cheese slices.. Yougurt, Lots of prepackages jams and jellies.. but nothing to put them on.. sometimes there are crissants IF you are lucky.. most of the time there are none. Coffee, espresso, capachino, milk or Blood Orange Juice. if you cannot get to breakfast by 10:00 AM you are locked out of the resteraunt. the only good thing about the hotel.. The View and proximity to the ocean... but BE carfeul the SAND is BLACK... YES BLACK... and without flipflops or watershoes you WILL burn your feet. unless you are a glutton for punishment.. I would skip this hotel... and Town altogether.

Hotel
The website lies. It will say things on the website, but the room will not have it. All of the rooms are as basic as possible. The staff is anything but nice! They will not try and help you out with anything. Avoid and go somewhere nicer. The beach is all black sand and you have to rent the chairs and umbrellas. Not good for its price. the bad reviews are true!
