Hidden Beach - the perfect place to stay in Key West

Hidden Beach Unit 3 - In Old Town, just 3 blocks from Duval Street; this property sits on Key West’s only natural beach. Hidden Beach is right on the Atlantic Ocean nestled between Key West’s best restaurant (Louie’s Backyard) and the beautiful, luxurious Reach Resort. Check it out on Google maps. Don't forget to zoom in.

Here, you can enjoy spectacular views and sunsets from one of the islands only private beaches or you can stroll through Old Town, an amazing architectural and botanical treasure. It is a short walk to many of Key West’s best attractions including the Butterfly and Nature Conservancy, The Southernmost Point, Hemingway House and the very cool Key West Lighthouse Museum.

The sculptor Seward Johnson and producer/writer Joyce Johnson created this property for their family and close friends, but are now offering it to a select group of discriminating visitors.

Absolutely Amazing
The best compliment I can give, is to say we will be back the next time we are in Key West! Beautiful apartment with everything we needed. In a quiet area that we enjoyed but still close enough to walk to touristy areas. We walked some and also did ride shares. Plenty of golf cart, scooter and bicycle rentals available as well. We loved sitting on the balconies and relaxing. My husband especially enjoyed the crow's nest for a better view of the area. Excellent communication with Lisa who answered any questions I had. Lovely architecture and furniture made for a homey atmosphere. Loved it!

Great place to stay cannot get closed to the beach, other than the tropical storm that hit our second day the property is great for two people, the property staff is the best very responsive. Louies backyard next door food is great along with our favorite of Red Shoe Island Bistro excellent.

Perfect Paradise
Hidden Beach was an adorable place, extremely clean and had everything we needed. A close walk to the greatest restaurants and adorable shops. It was amazing having access to The Reach Resort which is 10 steps away. The private beach is perfect. Lots to do and people are very friendly. We will be back. We stayed for a week and were not ready to come home. Lisa is awesome! xoxo

Lovely and Relaxing
We've vacationed in KW many many times over the last 30 years, and this was the best stay. The room was large and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the water. The kitchen was small but well-equipped and functional. All was super clean. Neighborhood is great - quiet but quick skip to Duval if that's your thing. Being next to Louie's Backyard was a plus for happy hour and a bowl of conch chowder. Any questions were answered promptly. If you read about the seaweed - yes, there is seaweed but that's the ocean - and if you're visiting the ocean, you're one lucky dog!

Fantastic views, great property
We had a wonderful stay here before Christmas. The property is clean and in a great location. Lisa was easy to work with and very responsive. The views from the balconies and crows nest are fantastic. Access to The Reach next door was a nice perk, although we did use the property’s beach as well. We are already looking forward to our next stay here, and hoping it stays ‘hidden’ enough that it is available!

Another awesome stay
As always the house was just amazing. I was worried about what I would find after the hurricane caused so much property damage, but David, Lisa, Kat and crew really worked hard to put the property back in great shape for guests. I will return again! This property is well worth your time to visit.

Secluded oasis
We loved the location for its privacy, quiet hours and relaxation elements. I will say that we did not rent a car, bike or golf cart and we did a lot of walking because of this - the property is close to the water however it is farther away from other attractions if that is something you are wanting to visit. There were a few days that we walked 4+ miles. Other than the walking, we loved our stay. Lisa was fantastic and available if anything came up. We had a grocery order through Publix that delivered directly to us. Uber was easy to use and came right to the front gate!

Beauty from within
This place was amazing the views are breathtaking I love the fact that they don’t have a TV in the master bedroom. That way you can sleep and listen to the waves crash against the shore. The place was clean close to downtown, and just overall amazing atmosphere. The staff was amazing from start to finish Mr. Steele Was very courteous and helpful with everything. I will be visiting again.

This rental was the best part of our Key West experience!
Hidden Beach unit 3 was the best! Loved the multi-level outdoor spaces, especially the rooftop for sunsets. Enjoyed the extra deep fountain faucet tub instead of the shower. Loved all the wood in the home made it feel very comfortable. We visited Louie’s Backyard for small plates on the second level a few times and happy hour at the outdoor bar. Right next door. Beach access was very convenient and enjoyed the Casa Marina Waldorf adult only pool immensely. Lisa is super friendly, available and helpful.

Superb ocean views!
This rental is everything you could want in a beachfront property in Key West! Immaculate condition, and the views are to die for! You are able to hear the waves from the back decks! Definitely recommend! The host is also very responsive.

Amazing unit, beach terrible
I’m giving this a medium review, and here’s why, the property is amazing, the unit and the view spectacular. The communication perfect. But we rented this unit because of its private beach. And while the beach is private with a fence around it. It’s not somewhere to spend time. First there’s no access to the water from the private beach. Yes you can use the reach beach resort which is fine but inconvenient. But here’s where the problem lies, the sea grass isn’t maintained, so the private beach is gross and the smell overwhelmingly terrible. So even if you could get pst that, the reach beach does maintain the sea grass except the pile it right next to the property fence where you would sit. And try to enjoy the private beach. The water is anything but clear in this area of the keys, at least until you get about 100 yards off the beach. Which the amount of sea grass you have to wade through to get there is gross. I took pictures but can’t find a place to upload them. Unfortunately we wouldn’t stay here again just because of the smell and the beach being pretty much unusable.

I understand now why they don't show you any photos of the master bathroom this was not the room you would expect to find in a home like this. The seaweed forget the beach, it was 18" high and 10' deep on the beach with a smell that was so bad we could not use any of the outside area that you see in the photos. For the $$$ we spent came down to a queen bedroom with not a lot to offer for other use that you see in the photos. We would not recommend this place.

Luxurious Key West Experience
Lisa was so attentive and communicative in getting us to the property. Upon arrival, the accommodations were incredible. The condo was breathtaking with its decor and finishes, not to mention how spotless it was. We had a beautiful view of the ocean to wake up to, and the location was very private and romantic. The Reach beach resort next door was the perfect place to relax and swim. This apartment was the perfect walking distance to the action of Duval street for when we wanted the authentic crazy Key West experience, but far enough away to be a quiet romantic getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would 100% book again. Definitely check out Louie’s Backyard next door for food and drinks right on the water. We love Key West but especially loved staying at the Hidden Beach.
