"The location is perfect right on the river with a great view from all windows. There are day trip opportunities near by the Mt St. Helens Visitor center, small town Kalama and McMenimans w/rec area. Even an in town Woodland Thai restaurant was good ( Mai Thai). The room was spacious with everything you need with a retro feel. The bed was so comfortable, especially with the soft blanket, need to find that one. The soaker tub was enjoyable. We will return, especially when the weather gets warmer,...

Tim is a fabulous host and has great tips about what to do, how to harass the locals for a good laugh, and accommodated our every need (including insuring/ensuring the return of my partner's wedding ring... and a sock we left behind). "Very clean property and well maintained. Beds were comfortable, however two of the four bed are on the floor without bed frames which was a surprise. Since some of us were on the senior side of time, we had to decide who was best able to get off the floor. Do bring your own shampoo, soap etc. as they are not provided. Photos do not do the home justice, it's more beautiful than the photos. Excellent, quiet neighborhood but parking is a bit crowded if you have more than two vehicles."

"My family stayed over Thanksgiving break. There was a window of fantastic weather with clear skies. We would start the day with coffee on the porch, watching the ducks play in the lake. Then we daytripped to Portland to hike. We drove up towards the mountains for breathtaking views of Mt Ranier and Mt St Helens. Then we would come back and cuddle up by the fireplace. Kara's home feels just like that - home. We would love to go back there next winter, or even during the summer to enjoy the lake....

"We enjoyed a 3 night stay and exploring the towns of southern Washington. Our lodging was comfortable and well stocked with great access to the freeway. It would be so much fun to return during summer months and use the outdoor seating areas. Highly recommend this place to stay."
