Lots of sargassum on the beach and in the water in early May so if you won’t be able to swim in the ocean. Transportation anywhere is minimum $100 USD each way so if you want to go on any excursions be ready for that expense and Uber didn’t work at our location.
Food was good, but the buffet at the sister resort White Sands was better than the a la carte in almost every instance. The rooms were very nice and well maintained. The drinks are watered down significantly.
One of the most disappointing things about this hotel is that there is music playing absolutely everywhere you go, on the beach and beside all of the pools. If you want to hear the sounds of the ocean or read a book by the pool, this is not the destination for you.
Unless you really value a nice room, the only reason I would stay at TRS Yucatan over one of the cheaper resorts in the Palladium complex is for access to the saltwater pool, which wouldn’t even be necessary if the ocean was swimmable.
