Online it was presented as a real nice ( 8.2 ) hotel. . It was in a terrible part of the city, the hotel itself must be 60 to 80 years old. The bathroom in the hotel was so small that you had to hardly shut the door behind you .

We arrived at 2:40. There was one car in the parking lot. The desk clerk came out and told us we had to wait until 3 to check in. After 45 minutes we asked again. We had reservations for a king room. She put us in a queen next to the laundry so we listened to the commercial washer/dryer until 8 pm. The room was clean but the wall unit for heat/cool was so noisy we finally turned it off. In the morning we could not get a receipt because the office was closed with signage they would open at 7. After check in experience we decided to just leave.

It's a dated facility with little to recommend it beyond being low-priced. It isn't particularly dirty or poorly-equipped. It's just old. There is certainly better right nearby, and probably a lot worse.

The property was well maintained and the staff was super helpful. The beds weren't the best but it's a bed. Same with the pillows.

Our hosts were kind & friendly. Breakfast offered many options that satisfied our whole family. There were various restaurants nearby to choose from & the area was safe. So glad we found this last minute spot on our way to Petrified Forest.
