Great location, Summer or Winter
The cottage was well-appointed, new and nicely located. We went snowmobiling right out of the driveway and want to come back in the Summer as the lake is just down the street.

We took a rustic retreat to the family- budget- and pet-friendly Funky Frog Cabin up north this weekend. Quality time ✔ It was really cozy without feeling cramped. The owners have really put a lot of time and love into this property. Excellent host communication. Superb attention to detail and accommodating our needs.

Got to the property around 330 on the Friday after Thanksgiving, checked into the property, walked around, was totally happy with everything looked exactly like he did on the Vrbo site And we had a fantastic weekend! All the appliances were there use the toaster use the stove refrigerator. Everything was really good would definitely make plans to stay up there again next year as we typically go up to northern Michigan Thanksgiving weekend Thanksgiving Denise.

Such a cute cabin filled with games also outdoor games not far from the state park. So happy yard was fenced in so our dog could roam around! Great place !communication with the host was phenomenal.

Perfect Cottage for a Small Family!
Our crew really enjoyed our stay at the Funky Frog! Denise was a great host and the property was as described. Definitely a smaller cabin but perfect for our two night stay with two adults, a newborn, and a dog. Outdoor area was great if you wanted to entertain or have friends stop by for the day. Would recommend for a small family looking for a quiet retreat near the best lake in Michigan!

Wonderful place to stay
We enjoyed our stay here. The pictures and description were 100% accurate. It's always wonderful to be able to take your dogs on vacation with you. Our dogs loved the big fenced in yard. Our girls enjoyed the yard games. Simple walk down to the beautiful lake. Any questions we had before arriving were answered right away. We have never been at a vacation home where the owners supplied items that can be easily forgotten. We remembered everything but I loved that those items were there if we needed them.

Our family, including our furry four-legged child, had a blast at the cottage. They have thought of everything and the property manager was also extremely helpful. Our dog loved having a fenced in yard to run around (something he doesn’t get at home). All the details were so well thought out. Looking forward to returning in warmer weather.

Long weekend fall getaway
Unfortunately, it rained nearly the entire weekend so we did not get to take full advantage of the property or the area. The home is in a great area and would be a great home base for exploring. Since the weather was so poor we were stuck inside. We tried to make the best of it with the games provided and watching movies. Our host was great with little treats left for us and our dog as well as checking in on us. Would love to go back in the summer to get the full Higgins Lake experience!

Go go funky frog!!!
It was a BLAST! The owner Denise is so awesome and thoughtful, there was snacks and surprises for our dog that we brought. She even had cute little dog bowls and mat for them. Which was AWESOME as we forgot his dishes packing! Lots of cool snacks and recipes for the fire pit outside. We played the yard games and it's cool having the rope lighting in everything! We blew up the inflatable kayak and took it for a ride in the lake. It was so much fun! You can very easily walk to Sam-o-set beach but we drove the times we went because we had swim floating and snacks and all that. Everything is GPS 7 minutes away, the local restaurants, store, ice cream, etc... so super convenient. This is a place we all decided is being bookmarked for future stays. The kids loved the loft with the pull down ladder, they were having a blast climbing up and playing and down and all that. All amenities are there, we cooked and had takeout and the Keurig is super cool. When it rained we had plenty of fun watching TV and the VAST variety of games there and in the basket to keep everyone full of fun memories. Being able to bring our dog was awesome as they really are a family member and don't want to be left out! Neighbors we ran into were nice, no complaints about anything on the cabin or trip. And Denise was checking in to make sure EVERYTHING was OK! We had 1 minor issue and she had a person out THAT DAY to fix it! Good job Denise! We can't wait to see you for the next trip!

Higgins Lake Stay
I and 4 friends stayed at Denise's cabin for a wedding at Higgins Lake. The property was very clean slept 5 adults comfortable, and had ample amenities. It was also a short 5 minute walk to the lake. If I'm ever traveling up to Lake Higgins a second time, I would certainly consider staying here again.

Cute Clean Fun Cabin!
This property was super clean, beautifully thought out details to make out stay special! Clean, very nice linens and towels, everything we needed was in the kitchen, extra supplies we forgot to bring were right there (plastic bags, aluminum foil, ect). The utensils and kitchen supplies were in great condition, kcups for coffee was so nice. Highly recommend this cabin! It was nice and clean when we walked in the door and COOL. Great clean cabin smells and just gave me an overall feeling of home. Great job to the owners for all they provided!!! Again, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The Funky Frog is the perfect getaway!
This was our first visit to Higgins Lake and our family LOVED staying at the Funky Frog! The cabin was modern, very clean and well-appointed with many personal touches. Beds were very comfortable. Our 3 boys loved sleeping upstairs in the loft and playing in the backyard. Grilling out, enjoying bonfires with s'mores and playing corn hole and ladder ball was a perfect way to end our days after being out on the water. Great location…quiet area, friendly neighborhood, easy walk to Sam-o-set beach and playground. We brought our 20 ft boat and had lots of fun exploring beautiful Higgins Lake! Denise was a great host and very responsive. We would love to stay here again!

Loved the shiny vaulted ceiling with the magical starlight device.
Everything seemed new, comfortable beds, lots of fluffy towels, nice dishes, sharp knives, gas grill, washer dryer, leather furniture. Hostess was very responsive and seemed to really care that we enjoyed our stay. We didn't use the loft as it didn't seem easy to cool it, but the rollaway was very comfortable.
