If we weren't stuck with no options on a holiday weekend, we'd have left. Family-owned businesses are great, but the young person who checked me in had no idea what she was doing, unfortunately. Once we got through a rocky check in, she handed me my key and I asked her about the next room. She said, you only had one and I showed her my reservation for two rooms. Reservations were placed Feb. 5 for Memorial Day weekend, last weekend in May with a very important request for side by side rooms. Our 85 year-old grandmother was not placed next to us as requested almost 4 months in advance so we were not as near to her in the event of an emergency or danger, which had us all on edge. Clerk was apathetic. When my father-in-law came walking into a side door of the lobby while I was still checking in and said that seemed very unsafe, the staff said, quote, "Don't worry about it." Fire door has signage but doesn't close! Hotel stunk of dog pee in every corridor. Our rooms were filthy, we have almost forty photos of filth on walls, floors, doors, the toilet, microwave, gnats, bugs. Splashes of food filth on the bed skirts. Used a bath towel to mop up some water and the floor turned it black. There was sludge on the toilet seat that wiped away with ease when we cleaned. We were only able to stay because we asked the front desk for bleach & a cleaning rag and cleaned the facilities ourselves. They were supposed to send someone to clean and they did not. Poor service across the board.
