"They didn't have any non-smoking rooms so had to accept smoking room. The hotel is old and smell in the room was terrible and within 20 min of entering the room I had itchy eyes and throat. I tried to air it out with the A/C but the wall unit must have been as old as the hotel and it was saturated with tar. It made the room even stinkier and my eyes itchier. "We arrived to Hyatt regency hakone and were immediately escorted in and were told they were waiting for us. From that moment on, it was nothing but first class treatment from the entire staff. It was an incredible experience and the staff experience alone should make people run here in droves!! It sadly rained (4.5 inches in one day alone) while we were there but the staff was always helpful with information, alternative advice, and wonderful smiles. Would definitely recommend as they went above and beyond. "
