It is a novel place to stay. My son loved all the “old-fashioned” stuff. The photos, the crazy elevator and having an actual room key really gave a sense of history. Staying for more than one night would have been a bit much. The bathroom was tiny, there is not a microwave or fridge and the pool was closed for renovations. While the staff are friendly, it doesn’t feel like you are a priority. Every time I needed something (checking in, asking a question, etc) it felt like I was intruding on their conversation/ scrolling time.

Check in was perfect at 1am. Easy and quick. Room was well appointed with all the amenities and conveniences of home. The decor was just as cute as could be. I am giving the staff and service of the hotel 2 stars as I know I left my expensive watch in the room. I saw it on the headboard when I left and thought my daughter grabbed it. Did not notice it was gone till we got to ABQ. Called the hotel and they said they would look for it and call back. They never called back, I had to call again and they said it was not there. Some how it miraculously disappeared. Very disappointing when people steal items that are not theirs!

So much fun and such history. If youvare looking for a glamour hotel room, this isnt the place for you. You a key and not a card. The room is small but the bathroom was great. The hotel restaurant was good and the grounds were well kept. This people who have stayed there in the past was cool and the story behind the hotel is great. Located on historic route 66 the surrounding area was a little rough but it didnt bug me a bit. If you stay you wont regret it.

It’s a fun hotel. Restaurant was a bit disappointing, it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks and over one hour for our food. The food was very disappointing too. The rooms are great.

The atmosphere and decoration of the main El Rancho building was amazing and the theming for the route 66 motel room (in which we stayed) was great. At the time of booking we unaware that selecting the route 66 themed suite would result in you not actually staying the the main El rancho building. Food and drinks in the restaurant was good. Negatives are the motel room was not supplied with a hairdryer, which when items such as a working record player was evenprovided, it seemed odd this basic item was missing. The room itself suffered badly from noise from the hotel car park and the main road. Don't expect for it to get quiet until close to midnight and if you are a light sleeper you will struggle. The door to the room had a noticable gap between the door and frame which i believe contributed to this issue. Considering the room was high spec, well themed, this issue was annoying. Parking was also an issue. It is very busy with both hotel guests and people visiting/eating at the restaurant so it was a struggle to find parking.

Unique western themed hotel,with wonderful decor. Hotel staff excellent. Was not sure how quiet it would be as our room faced the main foyer- it was totally quiet. Room was very compact but not uncomfortably so. They have a restaurant and a lively bar. The restaurant food was very good once we got it; but the kitchen was painfully slow for both dinner and breakfast - 40 minutes from seating to receipt of food in a nearly empty restaurant.

Our Ronald Reagan suite, for the money really needed a new tub. It looked like they tried to spray paint the enamel tub and half of it fell off making the tub/shower look very dirty. I didn't want to evan stand in it to shower. What made it worse, its a jet tub which i was locking forward to after a 7 hour drive
